Date a soulmate from California, United States. I want to be romanced. I want to feel a spark, to look into someone's eyes and feel like I can't look away. I want someone who makes me feel good about myself and also a guy who takes time for his own needs/friends.
I have two great boys who I spend alot of time with. I'm not looking to replace their father, I want a playmate! Wink Wink
I like to go to concerts (80's girl at heart), stroll on the beach, smile and laugh. I used to love to ski Tahoe in the winter, but have not had the opportunity to do that for awhile now. Hiking a trail on Mt Tam and seeing the views is great too. I'm open to adventure.
Recently separated and just want to have some fun for now and take it slow. I would like to be in love again and where that leads down the road we shall see.
To the world you maybe just one person, but to one person you may be the world.
Meet someone special from California, United States. I should probably start by saying that I'm not on this site to participate in a revolving door, dating marathon. I have a ton of respect for myself and a very strong sense of who I am and what I am looking for. So if you are flipping through profiles in pursuit of something superficial, short-lived, and meaningless you should probably stop reading now.
Now on to the difficult part, and here's to throwing all caution to the wind...
About Me:
I would describe myself as "authentically down-to-earth", genuinely humble, unconditionally honest and definitely NOT high maintenance. I completely shy away from drama, life is too short. I try not to take anything for granted and I take time to appreciate the "little" things in life that often go unnoticed. I have learned that it is not our "possessions" that define our character; it is what we have on the inside-what we are made of, what we can offer others, and what we can contribute that counts. I tend to keep track of time in laughs rather than years. The ability to make someone laugh, and laugh at one's self is priceless. I'm often described as sweet, but feisty when provoked. I catch people off guard at times with witty, out of character (I can't believe she just said that!) comments. Although I am very feminine and girly in appearance and in the way that I carry myself, I feel obligated to warn you that I have a competitive streak in me. I played softball/pitched from the time I was 7 through College (yes I threw really hard and I could strike guys out!). Four years of intercollegiate ball will add a competitive “edge” to any girl. So considering I have a feminine and a competitive side, it goes without saying that I can go from a fancy dress, heels and all, to a baseball hat and tennis shoes in a red hot minute! I’m intelligent and I like to think pretty well rounded and easy going. I’m stable and reliable, but at times I love impulsivity and just “flying by the seat of my pants”. So fasten your seat belt and hold on tight! I’m independent and strong in ways that still surprise me, I have life experiences to thank for that, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger right? There are things I still want to do, the list includes, but is not limited to... learning how to play the acoustic guitar, taking Salsa lessons, Cooking classes-I’m a huge Food Network fan, I want to get certified to scuba dive, both of my dogs passed their “Canine Good Citizen” test so they are certified to do therapy work in hospitals and convalescent homes. I’d be selfish not to share them with people who need encouragement, cheering up, and just a little four-legged company. The last thing about me, I am very lucky to have two wonderful parents that have been married for 47 years, a testament that true love does exist! We are very close, I'm an only child, and no, I'm NOT spoiled.
In a relationship, I believe that friendship is the foundation upon which true, long lasting love is built. It allows walls to come down, trust to be established, and we finally surrender and listen to our hearts. I am big on loyalty, respect, communication, thoughtfulness, and spontaneous affection. I do believe it is possible to fall “Head Over Heels In Love”.
My Match is a man that I admire and am proud to be with. He should be able to make me laugh until my side hurts, have compassion for others, and be very warm hearted. He should be strong and protective, but not in a jealous or possessive way. I want someone that can speed up and wind down with me, I consider life an adventure that is better shared with someone you genuinely love. And finally, I want to be able to fall into someone’s arms and feel like I am finally “home”, no matter where in this crazy world we are. If you are looking for the same, we just might be a Match : ).
Date a woman from California, United States. I find it very easy to be happy and have been lucky enough in my life to have all of the things that I need. I have two sweet daughters that, like the rest of my family, are very important to me. Compared to some, I live a relatively quiet life- it's not filled with adventure, travel and grand excitement. Instead, I am surrounded by joy and beauty every day and try not to take any of that for granted. Honesty is very important to me as well as kindness, loyalty and genuineness. A favorite compliment I've received in the recent past was when I co-worker described me to his wife as...'she's the perfect blend of teacher, girlfriend, mother and angel.' I can't imagine four things I'd rather aspire to!
Athletics have always been a part of my life, but I've never been very competitive. I do like to run because it's an easy and inexpensive thing that you can do most anywhere. I keep a soccer ball and flip flops in the trunk of my car in case anyone feels like kicking the ball around (could use a soccer coach, though!). The flip flops are there in case there is a chance to escape to the beach (or to put on after a long day in high heels!) I rowed port-side in the seventh seat for the women's rowing team in college...see if anyone knows what that means!
It's easy for me to get lost in music...I like all kinds and can usually find something I like in every genre. But songs like Rollerskate Skinny, Alex Chilton, Romeo Juliet, Lady Jane, Honky Tonk Woman, Barley Legal...will usually have me driving around the block to hear them 'til the end.
Like my father, I have a hard time sitting still. Sitting around the house is not really for me. I don't have enough down time in my life to waste it on the sofa. I rarely watch television unless it's a ballgame or a movie. I'd much rather be out doing something fun than wincing through the realities of strangers on t.v. I love to write but rarely have the time to do so. I'm not sure where it came from but I do have a love of cars- especially older, European race cars. I don't claim to know much about the engineering of them but I so appreciate their beauty, grace and sounds. I feel the same way about wooden boats, architecture, fashion and most things with good design. But I can only afford to be an enthusiast, which is fine with me.
In contrast, when it comes to men I'm always looking to what's on the inside and not on the outside. I believe that muscles and good looks don't mean much if one is not kind, understanding, honest, earnest and have a good sense of humor. I am attracted to good people and am rarely impressed by wealth, degrees or possessions. That's not to say that I don't' have respect for hard-working, educated people- I'm surrounded by and am one of those people. But there should be much more to a person that those things, I believe.
