About Me:
I am a man of Dutch heritage who is tall, fit, happy, well balanced, and relatively brainy. My life has varied hobbies, passions, travels, and interests, thus: "Wide Horizon".
I was raised and educated in Michigan, and immigrated to our great San Diego after college. I do love our varied town.
Presently, I manage a fullfilling business which, while demanding, allows freedom. My two adult children are happily secure and on thier own, we are close. Politically, I am a moderate and dont dwell on where Barak Obama was born, we have greater things to do in these times. About religion, I am a liberal Christian who is thankful and give back to life, but life has many mysteries, not all of which we can know, we are not the Boss.
What do I enjoy?
I greatly enjoy the company of a good conversationalist about ideas, not just people or things. I like ironic humor, books, artwork, varied music, and active sports. In another life, I would have Charlie Rose's job. With my work, I enjoy history and architecture, and I value win-win relationships in assembling teams to get challenging projects accomplished. I appreciate the cycle of life involving work and rest, inner and outer.
I like living near Mt Helix, where the hills, early sunblight, and flora are like northern Italy or the south of France..
ESPN, HGTV, CNN, Discovery and movie channel all all familiar to me based on mood. With an elegant lady, a night on the town or home with cinema have equal appeal. Travel to an unfamiliar part of our world would include romance, inspiring sights, exotic food,l aromas, a few onces of cognac, and an occasional Cuban ciger.
Finally, I like swimming, boats, active sports and sports cars, museums, art and art collecting, gardens, sketching, live theater, home tours;... and most importantly, to in harmony with my "other half".
