I hope you are not reading in hopes of finding my criteria for a woman in my life. Who is Chris looking for is a question I try not to answer. I have found that the best relationships are ones where you just let it evolve. Sure there are things I like and others I don't care for in people but if I limit what I'm looking for I might miss being surprised, might miss the right one you know?
So...
I am from Long Beach, worked there until I retired recently. I now live in Crestline enjoying the beauty of the mountains and lakes here.
My son Christian is 20 and he is my world. He and I are going to Hawaii soon to do some scuba diving and spend 7 whole days together!! He visits me regularly and we are pretty close.
Retirement, Although a little boring at times I get to spend most of my time hiking or kayaking and I'm adjusting to the less frenetic life. I still am looking for the next big endeavor in my life, I can never leave well enough alone. What did I do for a living you ask? I was a special projects manager for the Boeing Company. I worked there for the last 26 years, crazy huh! Did a lot of different jobs there but mostly found myself in the role of 'fixer'. Its a whole explanation...
As i spent the last 20 years raising and prioritizing my son, I find that now I am able to think of myself and going some places and seeing some things is next on my list and the only thing holding me back if anything is at all is my 14 year old dog and a desire to share life experiences with someone.
So what else?
Divorced for 3 years, still friends. Finished my Bachelors degree when I was 40 in Business Management.
In junior college I acted in plays, better than Dale Carnegie for public speaking.
I like to snow ski.
I enjoy lobster on the beach in Mexico with a cold Tecate and a tequila back.
I was a pretty selfish guy until I became a dad, being a father changed me fundamentally. it gave me a new direction and made me a better person.
I have owned a couple catamarans and really enjoy sailing, maybe get back to it again. Currently indulged myself with kayaks, gardening, coaching basketball, writing and photography. .
Most friends (I hope) would tell you I'm a good guy, big heart, sentimental, sometimes a little thick, frequently give friends good common sense advice, at times, deftly articulate. I would probably counter them with self deprecation.
I receive most of my satisfaction not by people showing me recognition but by the people i have helped or coached or mentored having had success.
I heard that there really is only one thing you have any control of in this life and that is whether you are Good or Evil.
I try to be good, to do good works. And thats it, as its HARD to talk about yourself!!
I've read many profiles here, literally everyone is as happy as can be and their lives are full. I hope to be refreshingly honest. I have a good life and a great family. I adore my twenty year old son, he's my best friend. But I am lonely for someone, in my life, in their life. I've been dating with the hope of finding my special someone. I don't actually like the dating part but it is necessary to find a partner in this world. I need someone in my life, someone who I can wake up with, plan a future with, someone whom I can love and who loves me.
