My interests are: dancing (especially the swing), politics, history (Discovery, History channel) laughing. I think learning new things are FUN. So, activities where I learn are definitely in. I have, and enjoy people who have a quick witty sense of humor. People always tell me I should do standup, but I don't have enough courage. I like being with my kids, family is the most important! I just had a son, his wife and 3 grandkids move to Gilbert, AZ. I will be spending time there.
In music I love listening to classic jazz, (Diana Krall is my current contemporary Jazz singer), plus love the classics, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Etta James etc. I also enjoy some classic rock, classical (recent interest in music of 1400's), and sacred music. I really enjoy going out and having a dining experience (rather than "going out to dinner"). I like concerts and plays too. Being home, eating popcorn and watching TV or DVD's (I am so busy that this seems good to me right now).
My spiritual life is important to me. I seek a close relationship with God and good people. The world needs more kindness and compassion. I believe listening, and hearing, are acts of love. There is nothing more satisfying than having a great conversation.
I look forward to a loving balanced marriage sealed in the LDS Temple where we have an equal amount of giving and receiving of intimacy. Nothing is more sweet and bonding than to hold hands and pray together. I want to meet quality, good women and make new friends and see what happens. I would like to meet a women who is full of gratitude and grace because she has experienced the atonement. As a result she would have burning desire to serve the Lord the remainder of our days. I say this because I have had these sacred life experiences and would love to share them with someone that having had the same, we can have excellent understanding about our life experience.
I am not into drama and game playing, but am into kindness support. I am sort of a hopless romantic type, (I don't "need" a women to make me feel whole- no stalker here- if you have been there you know what I mean). While I like holding hands, cuddling, kissing small unexpected acts of kindness.
Professionally, I have been a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist for years. I have taught therapist in university settings, as a supervisor, had private practice and worked many years with at-risk youth and their families. I am also a certified Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor. Prior to this career I worked for about 10 years as an engineer in the aerospace industry.
I have 5 children and 6 grandchildren that I love all to death. My oldest is 36 and is Mayor of the city he lives in and my youngest is 17 and is still in high school. Of course your kids and grandkids would become like my own. I would work to love them with the same love I feel for my own.
I love to read and usually have about 3 books going at a time. I find the older I get the softer my heart gets. I see things in much greyer terms, and am much more forgiving of people (even thou that has always been my nature, something is happening to my heart. It is changing, I feel the Lord working with me on it. I have been single now for about 8 years, and sort of put the whole matter about marriage in the Lord's hands. The last several months I have felt he wants me to start doing something about it. And, I am having these spiritual evolutions happening but I really feel the desire to share my life with someone special, someone I can grow with. So talking, studying the scriptures and praying together are very important to me. What beautiful intimacy it would be to hear your thoughts, feels, ideas, and your prayers.
