I am a large guy who has finally started to melt, lost 30 and have a lot to go. I am fortunate to have parents who have been married for 60 years, seeing them walking hand in hand with a cane in their other hands always brings a smile to my face. A touching movie, anime or song lyric will also make me smile and yes, even cry. So far my social life has been limited to getting together with friends who treat me like family and members of the burner community who are always striving to make people feel welcome no matter how different they may think they are. I am hoping to meet someone who likes to laugh, is playful, imaginative and smart. The book definition of relationship has me at a loss for what I'm looking for, my hope is to find a friend who enjoys having me around. Someone who trusts me and who I can trust to share thoughts and feelings with without reservation.

Someone whose idea of funny doesn't always register but who is eagerly willing to risk the ridicule. The things that I appreciate most in a partner are honesty, intelligence, overall happiness and even if the glass is half empty, that they can still appreciate having the glass. A sense of self, a sense of humor.
If I could live anywhere it would be...Nothing wrong with here. I grew up near San Francisco but I've been in the Sacramento area since just after college and 35 years later it's home. My daughter and two grand daughters recently moved to Southern California but my son and his daughter offer enough gravity to keep me circling the area.. Maybe someday I might consider somewhere where hot doesn't exceed 87 degrees but I'd have to convince too many friends and family to come with me to make it likely.
The thing that I'm most grateful for is to have been fortunate enough to have had two kids who both have grown into decent people. No do overs needed.
I think that the keys to a lasting relationship are in the fundamentals: trust, honesty, attitude, attraction, respect. I can't see describing a great relationship that includes the phrase "if only she"... would, could, were, or didn't. Who I'm looking for is someone with just the right combination of imperfections that will work nicely with mine.
