Meet a woman from California, United States. I was born, grew up, and went to school in the Philippines. In 1987, I immigrated to the United States with my 3 children and have lived in Northern California since. Back home in the Philippines, I taught high school for 8 years and managed 2 departments with about 80 to 120 employees depending on the season, in an exclusive resort for 12 years. I enjoyed my job at this resort. It was more fun than work. Here in California, I worked in an engineering consulting firm for 5 years. I started as a secretary, became a project accountant, and then a contract administrator. I had to take some work related courses at UC Berkeley Ext. Program in order to move up. Then in 1992, my late husband (white/Caucasian) and I started our small family business.
The gamut of my life's experiences has made me one with conservative values, kind of old fashioned in many ways, and yet open minded. I am a laid back person, adjust easily to situations, comfortable in the company of people from different walks of life, and at ease in jeans as much as in gowns. I am equally happy just staying at home, working in the yard or in our stores, or attending parties. I adhere to the golden rule, believe what comes around goes around (oops, it's the other way around), and that laughter is the best medicine. I carry myself very well according to my friends. Basically, I am very practical, down to earth - free of dramas, a good listener, comfortable to be with, honest, sincere, faithful, caring... the list goes on (for both good and otherwise), but I will leave the rest out for you to judge.
I enjoy spending time with my family and I believe they are my life's best achievement. My children have grown to be responsible individuals and good parents. They gave me 7 beautiful grandchildren. I like to hang out with friends, dine out, socialize, ballroom dance, golf, and travel. As a matter of fact, I have already done a little bit of travelling (both domestic and international). But I plan to do more in the future. I also enjoy camping. The last 2 times we went were at Sugarloaf in Lake Shasta. That place automatically makes you commune with nature.
I have joined this platform with the hope of finding someone to love and be loved, and enjoy life with. My one wish is to skip the part where I have to kiss a few frogs prior to meeting my prince. Is this naivete? Well, it is because I do not want to play games. I am happy where I'm at right now but somehow I have that inner desire to be with a special someone. If you are willing to invest time into the relationship and start out as friends, educated, financially secure, man of integrity, respect others for who they are, caring, faithful, generous, love family, and share all or some of my interests and beliefs, then it could be you.
