Date a soulmate from California, United States. I was a little reluctant to get back on Match. but remembered Dr. Phil once said in his southern twang, "Ya know, guys just aren't gonna come knocking at your door, ya gotta get out and meet um." So I'm ready for take off, baggage packed away, comfortable in my seat, and looking forward to new adventures.
I have very eclectic tastes and my friends are from many backgrounds and countries. I love the multicultural feeling of the bay area, in fact the community at my school in Berkeley is more multicultural than the American school I worked at in Japan for 4 years. Today I was at a going away party for some Japanese friends and tonight I'm having Indian food with one of my housemates who is Indian. Next week I'm meeting with a former student who now lives in the Czech republic. That's a slice of my life.
I'm a native Californian and love being outdoors -- solar charged, so to speak. I grew up loving the beach scene, skim-boarding at Huntington and Laguna Beaches and horseback riding in the nearby river bottom. I love sports and intellectual endeavors. I became a teacher out of a sincere desire to pass on my passion for learning and teach social and environmental responsibility to children.
I love the bay area. So much to do - dressing up to see a play or concert or comfortable jeans for a hike, biking, or a ride. I know many guys love a woman that can cook divinely, but as much as I love mouth-watering food my mother's attempts to keep me inside long enough to teach me to cook like her failed. But I do well with following recipes and have surprised many a beau with something I've pulled out of one of many cookbooks. My Japanese Nabe is well-known among friends. I love most being in the kitchen with someone special and enjoying all of the sensory pleasures that come with cooking together.

Meet a woman from California, United States. I've been divorced for 6 years after 30 years of marriage. I'm just wondering what's out there.
My closest friends are my sisters. They would describe me as hardworking, crafty, and reliable. Making things such as jewelry, reading, walking, and traveling make me happy. Spoiling my 3 grandchildren also puts a smile on my face.
I'm a cautious person, so this is not easy for me.
