I have worked as a school psychologist, counselor, child advocate and now work with disabled adults and teach classes for people dealing with chronic conditions. I facilitate a group at the Aldzheimer's Center for caretakers. I enjoy a warm fire, soft music and friendly conversation. I like being outdoors, gardening, enjoying natural environs. I camped for years and love the redwoods especially, but am thinking a cabin or R.V. might be more comfortable now. World travel is fun, but I am more of a homebody than a world traveler, like country life more than city, love living on the north coast. I like to be around rivers and lakes more than ocean as I historically get seasick. I do not golf (sorry) but might like to learn and do not enjoy watching sports on T.V. Family is very important to me. My exercise is limited by my work week (and ambition), but I enjoy walking and camping and the stationary bike and laps at the health club, the hot tub and massages. I do not smoke (anything), have no addictions and have never tried recreational drugs. I am in good health, am seldom sick, like to eat healthily, with lots of veggies and fruits, but have a weakness for dark chocolate and a glass of wine. Probably my favorite dish is shrimp scampi. I enjoy piano, classical and easy listening music, 60's music (of course), occassional country.I like the occassional movie, usually DVDs. I do not have cable TV. I currently have two cats and a medium-size rescue dog . I am debt-free but not wealthy. I like going to basketball games and baseball or football if it isn't too cold out!
I am looking for a long term relationship with a man who shares similar feelings for nature and healthy living, is an environmentalist at heart, is willing to share in all aspects of a partnership. Honesty and a sense of humor is a must, someone who has his own interests but wants to spend time with me as well. I have been separated for five years now and I need to get on with my life. I have traveled with my daughters to Germany, Austria, Greece, Italy, England and Japan. My favorite places were hiking Cinque Terre and the Tuscany region of Italy. We hosteled and hiked quite a bit, and only did one 'tour.' I often drive the 101 to the bay area to see my daughter, who is married. When my divorce is final, I will probably downsize and move south to be nearer my first grandchild, due in August. Latest vacation was to Grand Teton and Yellowstone with my youngest daughter.
I like to read. Latest books were Play Dead, Getting the Love You Want, Is It Alzheimer's?, Stupid White Men, Broken , Deep Green Resistance. I liked The Healing of America, What We Leave Behind and Tall Trees or Wild Trees.
This feels really strange - like an advertisment. I realize everyone comes with some sort of baggage, but no one wants to have very many negative surprises. Hopefully we will all find someone who has honestly portrayed themselves. Some of my pictures are old, but I am usually the one taking the pictures (my excuse).
