I am a kind, caring, calm, down to earth, and funny. You might want to know that I am rather intelligent and well-educated . Some people may be put off by my intellectual side, but it is just something I came to earth with, like my grey eyes. In other words, I had nothing to do with it. I'm quite straight straight-forward. I'll tell you what I think, but always in a kind and polite way. Am politically radical (to the far, far left), but don't go on and on about it. Was raised as a Christian, but later in life I explored various religious. I do not consider myself particularly religious, however. I'm more of an agnostic who sees that there is an extra dimension to life that some people call the spiritual.
Work: Between the ages of 20 and 65, I was a scholar, a researcher, and a Social Worker. Last year, I started buying rehabbing old houses. Because I treat each house like an art project, the work satisfies my creative side. Figuring out a new floor plan allows me to exercise my spacial relations ability and seeing an individual or family in a new house once I sell it, satisfies my desire to contribute to the community.
Play: Things I like to do include dining out in great restaurants; listening to good music; chatting with friends -- online and in person; attending live stand-up comedy, if it is not too gross. Afternoon recreation could include sipping coffee or tea with a new friend while talking and joking or walking my dog and feeding the ducks at the local pond. I like to to write poetry -- which is strange, because I don't like reading poetry. I prefer reading short stories to novels, because when I read novels I read them straight through in one or two sittings and don't get anything else done. I like to listen to light rock, oldies, soul, R 'n B, gospel, reggae, and music from throughout the world. I dislike classical music, hip-hop, and rap. I also love watching very good movies; and only very good movies. Unfortunately, I have seen most of them already. I totally love traveling and immersing myself in different cultures by living like the natives, as well as e immersing myself in different sub-cultures here -- different ethnic, age, economic, or religious subcultures -- here in the US.
Who I am Looking for:
I'm looking for n odd-ball gentleman to date and get to know, slowly. If you know how to do the wining and dining bit, let's strike up a conversation and see where it goes. You might find that I would wine and dine you back. My ideal long-term match is first and foremost a kind man. He knows how to be an equal partner with a woman, yet is also someone treats a woman like a lady. He's both emotionally and financially stable, and it would be nice if he were to the left politically, somewhat spiritual, and loved to travel -- though not absolutely necessary.
