Let me interject here just in case it matters. I am looking for friends in the desert; I'd love to go to dinner, a movie, or just have coffee with a real friend. I'm not on a Prince Charming & Marriage Quest. If you've got The Ring & Venue picked out, you're a better man than I am Charlie Brown, I just want to find real friends like I had in College & while I was working. I moved to the Desert & guess I just expected life to be the same. People don't just walk up & say "hey let's be friends" & that's sad because I really am amazing Friend. (I have references : ) I do find desert folk very friendly.
I love to laugh and see humor in almost everything. I also love to relax and talk with friends and so we relax, talk and laugh alot. I like to be treated with respect and do the same in return; I love to be treated like a lady by a gentleman. I really dislike tasteless jokes and all the double meaning stuff some men love to toss out; sorry I have known the wrong ones. I cannot stand jokes forwarded to a list of 25 people that end up just being a picture of a butt, or some dumb tasteless joke - what is the point? I do like to communicate thru email or "texting" because I love to write and think of great things that I feel should be shared immediately. I should clarify "great things that need to be shared" is, of course, according to my idea of what is important and fun.
I enjoy reading, mostly mystery, page turning books that one can't put down. I love Art Festivals, the theatre, usually that means the Movie Theatre. I do love live theatre, I love the Living Desert and The Zoo. I have begun writing a book about growing up and all the children in my life. I see more and learn more every time I play with my grandchildren - they're funny, amazing, smart and have sponges for brains....having a part in filling those "sponges" is such a blast.

I have found living in the Desert and meeting friends quite a challenge because I just don't know anyone here, Most people I've met that are my age are Political Conservatives & for some reason many of these folks smoke. I am definately a Liberal & I can't stand smoking. The Desert seems to be home to lots Conservatives as well as a lot of Smokers. Lol.......
I imagine my last comments narrow the "Playing Field" to about 3 people. Can't wait to meet the 3 of you - we could play Tennis! Doubles anyone? (although I haven't played in years, but did start when I was 4 if that counts for anything). As I mentioned, I'm not desperate to fall in love & live happily ever after with my Prince. What I enjoy most is being out enjoying the great outdoors, I love coastal walks on the beach, being barefoot in the sand; I enjoy snorkeling, boogy boarding, and scuba diving.
