I've lived in CA for 12 yrs and will never leave the fresh fruit, farmers' markets and incredible weather. I was born and raised in NYC and have no desire to return to the freezing winters and humid summers. I am a breast cancer survivor and plan to live until I'm 120. I love animals and have a small menagerie of Icelandic ponies, Scotties and cats. And yes, a bit much, but I believe in commitment whether to a person or an animal - so they're with me for life.
I like to explore historic, archaeological sites, museums and aquariums. When I was a bit younger, I used to scuba dive in the Caribbean (where it's warm). I'm fairly active but not Olympic quality - mostly do horse stuff. I enjoy eating out, being outside as well as watching TV, oil painting and reading. I like most food styles, and my favorite TV shows are Castle, Lost Girl and Grimm. I enjoy theater and every Christmas see the Nutcracker. I listen to NPR and find the National Geographic and History channels fascinating. I spent my Junior Year in Switzerland and traveled throughout Europe - even behind the Berlin Wall before it came down. Failed French in HS - had to be tutored to graduate. But I did OK with German. I love to dance - especially the jitter bug. I worked in South Africa and went on safari many times - such a beautiful but so violent country.. I jumped out of an airplane once - but blew away!!
I enjoy company and unless starving will not dine alone - so I always carry my Kindle for just in case....
So what am I looking for in a partner? My horses live in my backyard so having animals as part of your life style is a must. And a person who can't laugh at this ridiculous world need not apply. If you don't respect yourself then you can't respect me. And finally, I am attracted to intelligence - someone who loves to discuss geology as we drive in the mountains, likes to star gaze and find the constellations, and wants to explore ghost towns and ancient ruins.
