Date a man from California, United States. I have an undergraduate degree and took early retirement in 2001. Two months later I was offered a per diem job with the parent company of my previous employer. I worked at that until the job disolved in 2009. Since then I have been 100% retired.
From April, 2009 to July, 2011 I lost my father, wife, and mother.
I love collecting and people that collect. I am an avid reader of both fiction and non fiction. I am financially secure, own my own house free and clear and abhor debt.
I have received formal training in face reading which I continue to practice almost daily. I have almost no hair, oh well.

I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT HAPPINESS COMES FROM RESPECTING OTHERS REGARDLESS OF THEIR RANK OR ECONOMIC STATUS. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT TO BE HAPPY YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO. Date a soulmate from California, United States. It's always a bit difficult to describe yourself since people likely see you in a much different light than you see yourself. That being said, I see myself as someone that's pretty easy to get along with, and much more demanding of myself than I am of people around me.
I'm told I don't look my age, but you see the pictures and there it is ... maybe yes, maybe no ... that's for you to decide.
I'm trustworthy to a fault I think ... which has backfired on me a couple of times, but I guess it's just part of my nature.
I see myself an intelligent person, and have come to that wonderful point in my life where I'm not afraid to say "I don't know" ... I ask directions if I'm lost because I think I'm "directionally disabled" at some level (love that nav app) ... and I like to think I have a good sense of humor ... laughing and joking around is going to be a key to a good relationship with me -- if you can't laugh easily and often, then we're going nowhere.
Trust in each other is a non-negotiable must-have - but then who doesn't want that? I mean really ...
I would like to find a lady that is intelligent, reasonably self-sufficient in her approach to life, pretty to herself and to me, and is not looking for a completely free ride to the easy life. By that I simply mean that at our age we should both be able to bring something to the party. I retired a couple months ago, and that does mean you have to watch things a little more closely than you did in the past. I'm pretty well set financially, but I also don't see us jetting off to Paris for lunch, then on to the Alps for some skiing, saving Monaco for Sunday evening. Sorry about that, but there's a ton of fun things to do and see in south (and north) California, so it's not like there's nothing to do around here. I do, however, enjoy traveling when the mood is right -- I've been to practically every major city in the USA multiple times, England, several cities in Japan a few times, all the well-known Mexican resorts and a cruise or two. Of course to me, planning a trip is a good share of the fun, especially when it's a trip over water where English is not the first language (when they don't understand English just continue to speak English really loud and slow so they hate you even more) ... and there's enough to do that type of thing a couple few times a year. Like Italy, and so on ... lots to choose from ... but I'm ok at home too.
I have three kids, two daughters and a son -- and four grandkids. I was very instrumental in raising my kids due to circumstances, and I hope I have been a good father, at least they all seem to still love their old man. Probably because I was taught to cook well enough to get a decent meal on the table (thanks Mom) for dinner and make lunches for school that they didn't trade away for something with a Twinkie in it. Good kids.
Well let's see what else there is .... hmm, no parking tickets or prison time, so that's a plus I would suppose. I also think men that don't adore women are missing out on something very special. And I guess that's about it ... as they say -- thanks for calling in, and I hope there's a prize in there for you along the way.
Oh, and one last thing ... I'm looking for one, and only one, lady to build a relationship with ... hopefully a wonderful, fun relationship where we both look forward to seeing each other at the beginning, during and the end of each day ...

I think it's great if two people have some of the same interests and , but it's also great to be open to trying other things together. I enjoy being with a women who projects an image of kindness, is considerate and is caring towards others feelings. I believe that at this point in my life I have learned from experience who I am, what I want, and what I have to give. I have a full life and cherish my family, friends, volunteering, my spirituality, my free time. It would be wonderful to add another dimension to that in the form of a fulfilling relationship. Oh--I am a sucker for a great smile and one who is honest with each other. I need someone who I can completely trust and get to really know them. Love walking in the same area of civilizations long gone, and viewing their successes, and of course, the cause of their downfall. I also love/love museums and history. But, new adventures in this ever changing world are also stimulating.
I have traveled to 50 countries, some of them no longer exist. Found out that most people are the same, the world over, with the same basic concerns. But, certain stimuli results in confusion and chaos, that cannot exist in my life. But, for the most part, hopefully, but not in my lifetime, it will evolve to kindness and success for the Human condition.
Also, I still, even at my age, volunteer to help the elderly/elderly. It was funny, about a year ago, that I realized, that I was old too! But, I'm far from it, both physically and mentally.
By the way, if you think that Barack Obama is a good President, I am not for you.
For me, it is simply a great love. Yes, there have been many, married once. But, I have not been perfect, sad to say. If only.. .................But, "youth" is wasted on the young, as I have found out. I do have the ability to understand a "good" person. I do understand that some of us are not perfect, but will be, if not, we tried!
But, I have reached one final conclusion on love; A great love, regardless of the time, is well worth the effort! Is it not great to have a final love, or is it asking tooooooooooooooooooooooooo much?
By the way, there are two (2) things that will not make me trust people; To Wit---People that don't like chocolate or ZZ Top.
