I grew up on the Iron Range, a small group of iron mining towns in Northern Minnesota, left to attend collage on a hockey scholarship, returned, got married and started several businesses. All went great for a while, there was a huge demand for steel, it was overtime ok at the mines. Early 80s the bottom of the steel market dropped out and all went to Hades. Every third home was vacant, you could have bought the whole town of Babbitt (home of Olympic Hockey great Buzz Schneider and not much else), formerly a town of 2200 for less than 200k, including bank, shopping center, 3 churches and a golf course. 1986 business was horrible, all my friends had left, I was a single parent of 2 and could see no future on the Range so we left for CA. Arrived with my kids, 9 and 11 and not much else. Joined a hockey team, made many friends, started a construction business specializing in the textile maianance industry. Buiness boomed, met someone, got married, raised the kids and was very happy. A year ago, my wife retired, I gave the business to my son and we were going to enjoy our Golden Years doing all the things we had talked about, camping in the RV, cruising in our boat and lots of travel. Cancer ruined all that.
I am looking for a long term relationship, have no interest in causual sex, do not need someone to take care of me, I can cook, clean, do the laundry and change the bed. I miss being with someone, talking, laughing, cuddeling and all that goes with a committed relatiuonship. I miss going out lunch on Saturday afternoon. Know it won't be easy, but am not in a rush.
