The practical me: I've had many varied career activities, including: traveling and living in Europe as a graduate student, teaching college for 6 years, earning an MBA, changing careers from academia to business. I work now in West Los Angeles as a construction insurance specialist to public agencies. I've taught college in the past (including the local University of Phoenix) and have always enjoyed teaching. I do volunteer work, keep physically fit, and manage and referee youth sports (soccer and basketball, which my own daughters played).
The poetical me: My passion and entertainment is community theatre. I've experienced local theatre enough to have a deep appreciation of the art form. I've performed in a dozen shows, including in the lead villain role in the madcap comedy “Arsenic and Old Lace.” My musical ensemble roles include “Pirates of Penzance,” “HMS Pinafore,” "The Mikado," "Ruddigore," “My Favorite Year” and “Scrooge, the Musical” (role of the Spirit of Christmas Present). I have a good bass voice; have sung Bach, Handel, Mozart and Gregorian chant; and can sing the full range of the classic song "Old Man River." I love classical and popular music, rock'n'roll, the Beatles, pop oldies, jazz, dance, good movies, etc. I've climbed Mt. Whitney, Mt. Hoffman (Yosemite), Mt. San Jacinto (Palm Spings), Telescope Peak (Death Valley), and hiked the Grand Canyon. I love nature, hiking, seashores, dining, dancing, thunderstorms, moonlight, conversation and candlelight with someone special.
