I'm an artist at heart. I create, innovate, produce, solve, refine, and strive for perfection. I carry a neat little camera in my cargo pants pocket where ever I go; ready to capture beauty, wonder, awe, love, the unlimited potential in children soaking up life.
But you can't do those things all the time and I enjoy kick back time watching TV.
A friend recently introduced me to QiGong ('Chi Gong' is a form of Tai Chi but with less motion) so I excercize for 15 to 20 minutes once or twice a day.
I was a 'stay at home' dad while my ex over-worked at our church. I raised 3 great kids of whom I'm exceptionally proud. My youngest daughter(22), works at our Los Angeles church making the world a better, safer place. My eldest daughter(30), assistant manager of Denver Starbucks is married to a "Masters College" graduate whose father is a world traveled minister. My son, in the middle(27), a Denver construction worker I'm afraid took after me too much working too hard. I REALLY got lucky that they are just such upstanding assets to our country and humanity.
Since the kids grew out on their own and my wife moved on to greater independence (and is doing very well as office manager at a legal firm), I dumped the massive over head of living in Los Angeles and moved back to Northern CA (closer to what I consider home).
I moved in with my best friend from grammar school who, though he broke his neck in a motorcycle accident over 30 years ago, was, like me, being out grown by the large family he’d raised. So I drive him around and have someone to keep me company and, since the company I work for lets me do most of my work over the internet, I can be available to torment him with my cooking and bad jokes.
But I'm lonely.
I have so much work, study, advancement and challenges to overcome that I can stay busy indefinitely but it pales compared to shepherding a family of 5. I miss the living problems, interactions, pride in seeing others excel and conquer.
I still have a lot to give.
And want to.
