Date a man from California, United States. Newly Edited: 3/8/2012:
A little about me...
U.S. Navy Retired, very recently widowed, and now looking for a friend/partner to share activities and interests.
Married for 26 years and very recently widowed. She had Early-Onset Dementia/Alzheimer's, it did not come as a shock to me when she passed. She is now at peace. She suffered enough for 7 years. I quit my second career to stay home and take care of her 24/7 for over 6 years, until her needs exceeded my capabilities. This should document my devotion and commitment to the one I love. I am not in mourning, but looking forward to my life.
I am not "looking" for someone to marry. I am looking for a friend to share in doing the things I am now free to enjoy. I hold no expectations and, therefore, should be able to avoid disappointments.
I am fully retired with a decent income. I am financially stable and debt-free. I have NEVER abused any Drugs or Alcohol...30 years of "Good Conduct" in the Navy and I have the medals to prove it!
I could use all of those popular words to describe my desirable attributes but they make me sound like a Cocker Spaniel or Chocolate Lab.
I am 1/4 Sicilian, 1/4 Italian, 1/4 German, and 1/4 Scottish/Irish. I am Heavyset but told I carry it well, like a character from "The Sopranos."
About the one I'm looking for...
I will not list "requirements" for my potential date. That would be unfair to both of us. I would hate to think I had missed out on meeting Miss Wonderful, while waiting for Miss Perfect.
I would hope you are a few inches shorter than me…to allow you the opportunity to wear heels when you wish, unless, of course, you prefer to wear flats. You should be happy with yourself, and have an infectious laugh. If you happen to enjoy hugs and holding hands, that is a real bonus.
OK, the next step is up to you.
I'd just like to add...
Just know that I was raised in a generation that produced Gentlemen who enjoy treating Women like Ladies.
I am spontaneous and always willing to share new experiences. I love to drive...anywhere, anytime. Day-trip to Solvang? Weekend in Catalina, San Francisco, Laughlin, etc.? A week in New Orleans, Key West, Canada? Let's go!! In 1995, I drove a motorcycle across the U.S. and back across Canada - ALONE !! Am I comfortable with myself? You Betcha. I love my life, don’t mind being alone, but also enjoy sharing.
I gave one of our cars to my daughter, since she did not have one. This left a space in the driveway for my "new" car. It is new to me...a red convertible. I love to drive. I love to ride motorcycles. At this time, a convertible is a compromise that allows me to enjoy driving even more.
I have full access to all Military Bases and Recreational Facilities. It is a real bonus to be able to travel to New Orleans and Biloxi and be able to stay in the "Chief's Suite" at the Air Force Base.
The calendar says I am 67....People, young and old, say I look like I am in my 50's...and people on the phone say I sound like I am in my 40's. Go Figure!
I will leave any further evaluation of me, up to you.
