There was a young hotshot attorney, who became a Deputy Prosecutor, won some trials, put some bad guys in jail and got elected President of the prosecutors' labor union. He negotiated with the County, got himself interviewed on TV, and won some bold new benefits for his fellow deputies. But he pissed off the DA, and had to leave town at the age of 30. He wandered off, and worked his way around the world for the next four and a half years.
He taught for the University of Maryland European and Asian Divisions, , skied in Europe and Asia, and had adventures. He traveled across Russia on the TransSiberian Railroad, and visited most of the good Art Museums and religious shrines in the Northern hemisphere.
When he came home, he wanted to talk about the world of travel, or art, or leftist political parties in Turkey. The people he met asked if he'd seen last night's "Laverne and Shirley" show.
He moved on.
He became a stockbroker in the '80's, then a portfolio manager for a trust company in Santa Barbara. He learned a lot about investing in securities. He now teaches Wall Street investing to CPAs and lawyers around the country. He writes books about investing, and a weekly essay about gold and silver for his financial blog. Montaigne was an essayist, right?
But alas, even with his teaching background and the "A" he'd gotten in travel and dating, he finds that life hasn't brought him the happiness he'd sought. Oh, he's had relationships and been married. He's done decades of therapy, including Gestalt and Reichian work. After years of over-indulgence, he got around to physical nurturing, and alas, even mental health.
He's had houses and cats and learned how to cook dishes that included vegetables. He held a massage license in a couple of cities, and learned to do Reiki and meditate. Women didn't seem to care. They seemed to prefer the bad boy on the motorcycle.
Now he's searching in earnest. He wants to find a partner. Not a law partner, but a life partner. He'd like her to be an appropriate age, ethnicity and size. He'd especially like her to be someone attractive and smart and spiritual. He certainly would like someone with practical life skills, and a sense of humor.
He would enjoy companionship that included cooking, walking and an appreciation of '70s rock and roll music. Did I mention IQ? If the moon were reached, such company would also include money skills, and a Spiritual awareness that included Edgar Cayce, Ram Dass, and Whole Life Expos.
