Date a soulmate from California, United States. Hi - i've just transferred from Yahoo and am still trying to put my profile into the new format. it's a work in progress!
my ideal partner would also be looking for a committed relationship. i'm looking for someone who is somewhat near my own age and definitely not someone young enough to be my daughter. If you're reasonably attractive and average-to-thin build, that's my ideal :) You should be affectionate and honest as well. That's not too much to ask is it?
I'm a "young" 65-year old caucasian (and not lying about it). I've moved back into the LA area 3 years ago after 14 years away. I'm 5-7 and 160 lbs, blonde hair (now graying), blue eyes. I'm a retired Aerospace electrical engineer/technical writer (originally from Illinois), financially secure, but not rich. I own a condo/townhouse in Culver City. i don't have any children.
ah yes, the "separated" issue. i know it is of great concern to many women, so let me address it directly. i consider myself divorced, although legally i am separated - for medical insurance reasons. My wife receives medical insurance until age 65 thru my retiree coverage with Raytheon. she loses coverage if we divorce. since this was a "friendly" breakup, we have not divorced so that she may keep it. she lives permanently in Florida and neither of us has any intention of getting back together. we have both lived alone for three years now. i AM available! I don't have any children.
my life style is casual and unsophisticated. I'm comfortable in shorts, jeans and sport shirts. I almost never wear suits and ties. I enjoy walking a mile or so most mornings for exercise. I take stairs instead of elevators whenever i can.
i have definite homebody tendencies, but not entirely. i enjoy bridge, backgammon, trivia parties (especially music trivia), going out for lunch or dinner, and watching movies on TV. and yes, i do like to watch basketball games (we all have our vices). I don't smoke, drink only socially, and don't do any drugs.
i enjoy listening to and playing R&R music from the 50's thru the 80's. I got rid of my 1600 vinyl albums but still have about 300 music CDs. My favorite music is from the mid-60's. Country is OK too.
i enjoy doing things around the house and the local area - say within a couple hours drive. i'm not a serious outdoors type tho, so if camping, kayaking, skiing, and lying on the beach are your thing, then we wouldn't be a match. i'm light-complexioned and i burn easily. i'm also not into international travel. i think i would go claustrophobic being stuck in an aircraft seat for 8-14 hours.
Well, that's me as best i can describe myself. If you would enjoy meeting me for lunch, please send an email with a few words about yourself beyond what's in your profile. I would love to meet you and see if we connect! i'm also not against investigating a possible relationship with someone in another state, as long as they have time available to spend together (retired is ideal).
