Date a soulmate from California, United States. I read the NY Times and The New Yorker and participate in a book club; love finding new things on the internet, am a pushover for dogs (have one, so I am an indentured servant), am inspired by backpacking to high quiet places, bike to work when possible; am boringly healthy and hope to find someone with similar interests. Knowlege speaks; wisdom listens.

Date someone special from California, United States. Trying a new sushi bar; watching the eclipse; discussing an interesting article from the NYT; enjoying a Giants game. These are the things I miss about being with a wonderful partner. I'm eager to meet someone who wil celebrate the everyday moments with me and will join me in appreciating the little things.
Family, productive work, giving back, are essential ingredients of my life. And I've got a pretty developed sense of humor. I'm a sophisticated gal, with an active intellectual life, and I love being with someone who can keep up with me. And if you're looking for someone who's fun to spend time with, my friends tell me I should report that I fit the bill. I'm energetic and I enjoy new activities.
Most important, I have a kind and generous heart.
Last, I consider respect to be the cornerstone of a good relationship, and I'm eager to meet a man who feels the same. Also, I want to be with someone who takes the time for self-reflection and who prides himself on taking the journey seriously.
Oh, yes, I look like the picture, and I'm told I'm attractive (although my hair is a little shorter these days).
I welcome the opportunity to hear from you!
Please no winks. And I appreciate some time to get to know you before we meet in person; an email conversation or a phone date are my preferred next steps.
Meet a soulmate from United States. Fun-loving active adult who loves to travel and volunteer. Financially secure. Loves listening to jazz. Enjoys ballroom dancing, dining out and volunteering. Reading books, including non-fiction and thrillers. Beaches. Long-time Palo Alto resident who desires long-term relationship with fit, successful, independent, mature man. Looking for someone who also loves to travel and is open to exploring other interests.
Date a woman from United States. I have had a very good life and am grateful. It has been punctuated by many similar joys, misunderstandings and moments of relearning and tragedies that most of us have had by the time we are in our 60's. Raised in the Bay Area and Palo Alto by Mid-west parents, I moved back about 8 years ago. Spent the previous 25 years in Los Angeles where I was married, raised a daughter and son and had a wonderful career in art departments in the film business. It was good to me yet after years of racing to deadlines and through 10-12 hour days not counting driving I grew a bit tired and bored. Probably was the fast approach of middle age and wanting life to have more meaning. Chose teaching and it was a smooth transition. High school. Harder than I thought but at least very meaningful. Anyway...I consider myself educated, informed, semi-erudite, politically minded, a good parent and most of the time easy to get along with. I love a good conversation that has direction without the need to win. I love a day in the City, the Dish, travel to just about anywhere in the world and enjoy conversation with wine while cooking. The usual good stuff of life. The NYT in the morning. I have a very busy life, take care of an elder parent, love my children and enjoy our maturing relationship yet need that friend, that love, to weave into my life. I am financially secure which offers comfort by my age. Most of my close friends live in Los Angeles and Australia which tends to be a drag. But as Gail Collins says, I digress. I am looking for someone who might fit under a similar umbrella. A man who has has a varied life, children, believes in being aware of and involved in the world's events and hopes for a better future through kind actions. Laughter is always good. I like to start as friends and do not have immediate expectations that exceed that of meeting another engaged person. If it grows then we are very lucky. I don't feel jilted if we are polite, enjoy a cup of coffee, engage in a two-way conversation, laugh a little and decide to not pursue a personal relationship. And hope for the same in return. I think this covers the basics! And a final note, with due respect for the system, I don't respond to winks. Aside from that, this summer is beautiful!
Meet someone special from United States. My interests are always changing depending on my partner, where I am and what I am learning.
I love a man with a wonderful sense of humor. It is so much fun to just laugh out loud. It's the very best aphrodisiac and puts one in a beautiful state of mind and it feels good! Intelligence and thoughtfulness, the ability to change when needed and an open and loving understanding of your world and mine. What we explore together is so important for me in a relationship. I would like to visit new places, people and ideas with you. Learn from you and you from me. Love with friendship is a special state of mind that most seek and never find. I believe in it. I would like you to show me your favorite places, starting with this beautiful region of Northern California. I am always amazed at it's great beauty, but have found sharing this makes it all so much more extraordinary. Living life to it's fullest is a big idea, but I am game to try it and not wait another day. Since I believe that life is full of surprises, many of which we would never expect, it is wise to live out our dreams now and not wait. Don't you feel that way? I hope you do and if not yet, let's learn together.
I hope to hear from you soon
