Date a soulmate from Palo Alto, United States. Let’s see… a snapshot of me: I'm heading into my second year of a doctoral program and I’m loving it. While I’ve been living on the West Coast for a few years (I moved here from Seattle), I grew up in Maine and lived in Boston for my first grad program. I try to visit as much as possible. My favorite things to do include listening to music (ideally live), watching an episode from my oddly extensive DVD collection of cancelled TV shows, drinking cheap beer, letting my secret nerd show through getting lost at the library or in a museum, going to games (love the Celtics), and hanging out in the sunshine. While I can’t say I’m particularly good at bowling, paddleboarding, or darts- I have a blast doing them all. Random fact: all my deceased Beta Fish were named after my favorite Wire characters (they all happened to die on the show as well). I’m generally super easy going and love to laugh (often at myself). I love to travel, though most of my dream destinations have been shelved until I’m no longer a student. I also enjoy cooking and trying new restaurants. That being said, I’m as happy eating freeze pops as I am eating expensive sushi, leading some of my foodie friends to claim I have "no taste." These days I’m loving trying out all the food trucks in SF. I almost always love being around people, but have been known to barricade myself in my apartment with a good book or comedy central.
IРІР‚в„ўm new to online dating and hoping to find someone who is generally up for anything- going out to dinner and drinks, staying in channel surfing or cooking, checking out a new dive bar, or playing pool with a girl who tends to get the 8 ball in first. My ideal guy is someone who can make me laugh until I snort and can laugh at himself. I want the person I meet to teach me something and I hope to be able to teach him something. I hope to find a guy who cares deeply about things, but doesn't take himself (or the world) too seriously- someone who can get sucked in reading a book or the news or watching/quoting episodes of Seinfeld. Balancing being active with chilling out/relaxing time is a must.
I hate to admit that while extremely friendly and outgoing in person, I tend to be shy online and donРІР‚в„ўt generally make the first move. Message me if youРІР‚в„ўre interested in getting to know one another!
Meet a girl from Palo Alto, United States. There is a purpose for all of us. I'm fairly positive I haven't found mine yet, but I think I'm getting close... Operation Boost Endorphins is in full swing: my first 10K is this September, and so far I'm enjoying my training regimen. Starting in October, my 200-hr yoga teacher training certification program starts... so eager to begin studying!
I believe in fierce loyalty and the power of music to uplift and heal. Social niceties are important (baking cookies, singing happy birthday, sending thank you cards). I have green eyes, blonde hair, and I miss my freckles in the winter.
Family is hugely important to me... hiking, wine-tasting, baseball, and a host of other family outings and adventures. I adore my brother, who has had to put up with his older sister for 28 years and counting. He's much cooler than I am.
I like music (who doesn't?) and have songs constantly stuck in my head, although it may be Muse one minute and Handel's "Te Deum" the next... ironically, I can't make a music playlist to save my life. I'm a grammar-perfectionist, I have strong opinions about serial commas, and I dislike double-spaces after periods... yet, I continue to excessively overuse parenthetical expressions. I'm ambi-coastal; I love the SF Bay, but spent many years in New England, and recently completed grad school in Iowa. I adore skiing, wine-tasting, hiking, talking in fake accents, and meeting new people. Bucket list includes: sailing in the Greek Isles, exploring Norwegian Fjords, and taking a jeep tour through the Australian Outback.
I'm looking for a partner in crime who can be equally at home alone or in a crowd; climbing a mountain, wine-tasting, or a night at the opera. I like strong personalities who are good in social settings, but also someone who makes me feel like I'm the most important person in the room and isn't afraid to show it. Wanderlust/urge to explore and a passion for life are must-haves, as is an adventurous, curious, open, intellectual spirit. Witty banter and sarcastic humor are pluses.
