I grew up in Chicago, but have been a Bay Area resident for many years. I spent many years living in the East Bay (Oakland Hills) but moved back to the City after my long marriage ended two years ago. Those who know me would describe me as smart, sincere, honest, enthusiastic, kind-hearted, thoughtful, loyal and generous. I think, like many men, I am a romantic. I want to fall in love and be loved in return. I am grateful for my two smart, beautiful, grown-up daughters. I have a great law career, but am looking to make more time for play and fun. I am active and have high energy but enjoy kicking back. I like travel, good food and drink, movies, sports, the outdoors, reading, feeling fit and healthy, and sharing ideas and laughter. I have been called a "nice guy" and that is what I try to be. I am down to earth, you might say laid back and enjoy laughing (rarely get a chance). I enjoy movies, jazz and a good mystery book. I enjoy quiet evenings at home after a long workday but weekends are for doing things. I am somewhat adventurous and will try most anything as long as I'm doing it with someone I care about. I am an avid animal lover and started a email group (50 members strong) to share pictures and videos. Years ago I thought when I retired I would volunteer at a shelter but changed my mind when I realized I will never retire (I'll save that story for another time).
I like to cook and kind of a neat freak but not to an extreme. I like clothes and since I have to dress in business attire, lean toward suits. Unfortunately, I have a few suits that 15 extra pounds keep me from wearing. I am committed to losing them (the pounds, not the suits).
I am not fond of air travel since it has been made so difficult. However, I love to drive. I am from NYC and when my mother was alive, I must have driven across country a dozen times. I have no remaining family and a limited friend base in Los Angeles after living here over 40 years.
I am looking for a female friend allowing that the friendship can develop into something deeper. I will not lead someone on and believe in an honest relationship. I know I am not the greatest catch at my age but I also know I am probably the nicest guy one can catch. Lets see what happens.

I live in a pretty large home that I built and have lived in the better part of thirty years. Love to take 3 day jaunts to Morro Bay or Monterey and one day excursions to the mountains and have breakfast at Cheryl's Diner in Kernville. Love to go out to the desert where I used to ride dirtbikes all the time, but still smart enough to know that summer is not the best time to go there. I love to watch movies, especially good comedys and good thrillers. And, if I tried to tell you all names of the movies I have on DVD, I would be writing forever! I like most great classic musical compositions and my five favorite composers of all time are Johann Sebastion Bach (Concerto in C major from the well tempered Klavier), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ("Eine Kleime Nacht Muzik"), Pedr Leopold Tkaiknovsky ('Swan Lake"), Sergei Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto in C Major, Theme from Pagannini), and Sir John Barry (The compositions from "Somewhere in Time", "Raise the Titanic", and "Dances With Wolves"). Also, love 60's and 70's, some 40's Big Band Sound and really dig on "Doo Wop". Basically, I like all kinds of music except rap (which to me is NOT MUSIC) and hip-hop!
Love to go out for dinner, usually casual, but I do own a "Tuxedo" and could, if need to, go out "dining to the Nines"! Love all kinds of international food also, especially "Mexican", "Italian", and "Chinese". But, I will eat just about anything as long as it doesn't move, looks at me, or has other bad qualities, some of which I won't mention, and anything cooked poorly or overcooked! I even love Subway sandwiches, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and burgers and fries. But still I watch what I eat (yeh! As you put in your mouth and begin to chew!) Sorry that was my "Alter-Ego Talking"! Though, I believe that if I had just one choice of a main course to eat the rest of my like, it would to be FISH! And, usually the best fish I ever eaten, I was the Chef. Especially Salmon!
