Meet a man from California, United States. I must say that I never thought I would use this type of service to meet people. But I have enjoyed some of the emails so far. I never did the bar scene well and church (when I go) has its limitations. So what’s left but the gym and coffee shops? So here I am! I have four girls, one just became “an adult” and then there’s the teenager, and twin 8-year olds. When I am with them (about half the time), they are an absolute joy (well the teenager is difficult, but I still love her). The closest I have come to a boy was a fabulous yellow lab and he was fixed, so this didn’t even count. Girls are awesome - all ages. I do have my “man friends” but they get boring fast.
I am lucky to have a low-stress low-hours job (the beauty of working for a European company) that pays well and I work at home, so I have a lot of time to do other stuff. I have dabbled in other business ventures and am always looking for the next great idea. There is so much out there we have yet to mine! I am sooo glad Gore invented the Internet!
I am pretty “laid back” (such as many Californian’s are) and have a very good sense of humor, I love to laugh, but get a little deep sometimes. I am an ultimate optimist, and get along with most people. If I can make one person laugh every day, or otherwise feel good about themselves, I have had a good day. I enjoy sitting on a beach or at a park watching people. I refer to myself as socially awkward (aka shy) but most people don’t agree - go figure.
I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time in the gym (both weights and aerobics), running, or riding my mountain bike up hills and mountains. I enjoy playing most sports though don’t golf and can’t dribble a ball and move at the same time (it is the genes). I love movies but watch very little television. I love the local sports teams (well the 49ers and A’s anyway) and listen to a lot of music (concerts, mp3, XM’s Alt. Nation, KFOG). I am looking forward to the next Outside Lands festival (in San Francisco)! I love all food. Life is good.
Once friends, I hope to find that special person, the elusive “soul mate”, that someone where there is a "natural" connection with, someone who I like to be with (at least most of the time), high emotional compatibility levels, spirituality is important, intimacy must be strong. All of this should be present to a certain degree. I do believe that a "perfect match" is an ideal that can not always be met but with effort, you can get close. Meet people from United States. Who am I? Seriously, I'm supposed to spill all the beans just like that? Ok, I'm a tiny speck in a vast universe trying to nurture the greatest expression of love I can. Besides for that, I am a widowed father of two boys, one of whom still lives at home and is finishing up high school. I mention this mainly because my kids are very important to me, and in that regard, I have been spending a lot of time with my younger son in Southern California of late to help him pursue his dreams.
Besides looking for the ever elusive 'chemistry', I am looking for someone who tries to engage their world as it presents itself and is interested in examining this wonder we call life on earth. I have to admit to being skeptical about on line dating, so imagine my suirprise and wonder when within the first week of signing up I had found not one but three soul mates! Then there are always the issues of rediscovering oneself after years in a relationship.
As for details on me, I am looking forward to increasing amounts of travel as my childrens' independence continues to grow. Ultimately, I'd like to see the entire world, but we'll see how far I get. One thing I have found, joy comes from being in the present, and not from external events. That being the case, there are loads of exciting places and events in the world. On the new media side, it took me a while before I parted company with my flip-phone. I now own an iBrick which I recently liberated it from its protective case...I'm living on the edge!
