I live an active lifestyle and time is important since it is something we can not replace in life. I want to meet someone who walks the walk not just talks the walk. Originally from NY, still have family back there and visit once or twice a year for business. Get down to Florida regularly too, more family there. Will begin visiting Chicago since my oldest starts school there in the fall. Do Vegas once a year - just chilling by the pool, seeing shows, dancing in clubs, watching more than actually gambling. Have traveled outside the US some and have seen many parts of both the East and West Coasts. Road trips can be great fun and if you're willing to put up a tent, I'm willing to sleep in it!
Given a choice, I'd choose to be moving: cycling at the beach, hiking in the mountains, walking, playing, dancing, etc. Sit all day at work so in my free time I gotta 'do' something. Love to hear a good story and am happy to have someone else be the center of attention. Am better one-on-one than in groups but do love a good party every so often. Now that my girls are grown, am ready to take some risks. Dang, can't even think of anything really risky - I need some help with that one!

I was lucky to have a solid, loving relationship with my husband for many years until his death three years ago from cancer. I made a documentary about an 85-year-old barber in Birmingham who dedicated his life to the struggle for civil rights. I learned a great deal from this man about perseverance, sacrifice, determination and much more. But his words that stood out most for me were, "Dyin' ain't the worst thing a man can do, the worst thing a man can do is to live for nothin...I want to live for a purpose."
No distance is too far to travel for a friend in need. I've been known to take home a stray animal or two, which is how my Peruvian dog found its way to America with me. I find the greatest joy in sharing laughs with friends, showing someone I care, or helping those less fortunate. I love what I read somewhere..."glass half empty, half full...I'm just glad I have a glass." I am very grateful for my amazing circle of friends and family (which include two grown and successful sons), an exciting career, and can't wait to share it all with someone very special!
