When I married it was till death do us part. I loved unconditionally, raised 2 children and enjoyed life then as it was. What I have learned is that marriage isnРІР‚в„ўt always forever, and not all love unconditionally. As a result I am starting my life over at 53. This is not a bad thing I have realized, I feel awakened to life, liberated yet humble. I feel there is so much more to experience in my life whether it be through new relationships, travel, volunteering, or just taking that initial step out of my comfort zone. Currently I live with my mother who is 89 and one of my best friends. I know this may turn some of you off and that is ok. She was there for me and always will be and now I am there for her. It is interesting that while I was married I regretted not spending time with her now I can spend that time with her and it feels good. I have come full circle, my turn to take care of her. My living arrangement is not permanent but it works for me now and I like it. My kids are happy and my dogs are happy now running around on an acre of land.
I have a good job and a good retirement what more can I ask for in that area. My kids are grown one in college at Cornell and the other lives in Palm Springs. They are genuinely good-hearted kids. I have 3 dogs that are well behaved and a pleasure to live with. I used to raise exotic parrots and Koi and now I donРІР‚в„ўt. At one point in my life I had 2 horses for which I loved and still do. Life is much simpler now and I am adjusting nicely to that.
You know the saying take the time and smell the roses, well I do that now and it feels good. I have time to exercise whether it be going to the gym, yoga or taking a walk in the evening hours or a hike in the mountains in the early morning hours before everyone wakes. I love to eat outside on a patio surrounded by nature with a glass of wine and good company or by myself.
I like most genres of music classical, jazz to hip-hop. I love small concerts in an intimate setting. I have been to many concerts though none lately, but I am open.
Some simple pleasures of mine are,
