Date a woman from United States. Moved to the Bay Area from NYC about six months ago to take a dream job. Not just looking for dating but also for friendships, so if it sounds like we might have fun just hanging out, go ahead and message me.
About me: I'm geeky but cute. I'm sarcastic and funny. I love pop culture and politics. I'm down to earth and don't see the point of mind games. I love to laugh until I cry. I somehow manage to be both cynical and quixotic at the same time. I'm a liberal and proud of it. People always think I'm at least five years younger than I actually am.
I enjoy dining out, museums, theater, and going to bars, but have just as much fun staying in and watching a movie or playing board games. I love traveling and if I go more than a few months without taking a trip I start to get antsy. I love spending time at the beach -- I go to the Outer Banks of North Carolina every year, and I just got back from my first trip to Hawaii.
I'll happily go with you to a comic book store, where I'll buy titles written by friends of mine. It's even better if you want to challenge me to a video game throwdown or an air hockey match. I am not a "sports person" but am definitely sports-tolerant, especially if it's basketball, baseball, or tennis.
I'm a night owl, not a morning person. I prefer ancient art to modernism, the Beatles to the Rolling Stones, Veronica to Betty. Brunch is my favorite meal. I wish "Mad Men" was on every night.
Meet someone special from United States. The first thing you should know about me is that I will probably never lose my kid-like spirit. I grew up in a family that hosted multiple foreign exchange students, one of whom was a crazy Brit who introduced us all to Monty Python. To this day I still occasionally break out in various voices from *somewhere* in England -- it is an unpredictable phenomenon even to me (and the gateway drug to my attempts at Scottish and Australian accents also...still working on those). I own pair of socks with ninjas on them and another with garden gnomes, and I do little dances when I'm happy. You get the idea. All this to say that if you, too, are a bit nutty and have a wide-wandering imagination, we probably have a good chance of getting along. :)
Overall, I'm a fairly grounded, compassionate, sincere kind of person. More earnest than sarcastic, definitely more effervescent than yoga-mellow. After 12 years working in community-based arts (mostly dance), I'm now on the edge of graduating from an interdisciplinary MA program that approaches creative practice as a process of transformation (when you're transforming materials--whether it's paint, paper, poetry, movement, a garden--the idea is that there's also _inner_ transformation occurring...) My focus is on place-based artmaking: how can we become more connected--more at home--in the places where we live? I've also been studying emotional and behavioral neuroscience and this has drastically transformed how I view basic human nature. Deep down I think we're all just looking for connection, respect, opportunities to work towards dreams and goals, and space to unfold into the people we have the potential to become. (Ja, I'm an idealist, but I try to be a practical one.)
The match I seek...hopefully you are: connected to your heart, open-minded and accepting of others, aware of your own triggers, curious about the world and its mysteries, and a really good kisser. :) My dream is that we would share a connection to the life force at the center of things (whatever name you may have for this is cool) and that we would work towards having a relationship strong enough to withstand the occasional kind of storm that's bound to happen as two people are growing and changing. Long-term, we'd find ways to live a genuinely vibrant life: music, friends, spontaneity, poetry -- lots of sun and rain and stars and good lovin' until we're old and creaky but still crazy enough to dance in the kitchen to a favorite tune even if the tea gets cold. :)
Thanks for reading this. I look forward to meeting you.
Date a soulmate from Berkeley, United States. Hey there!
I guess the photos were interesting enough to for you to look this way... IРІР‚в„ўll have you know I keep my figure with a healthy diet of dim sum and crispy fish tacos. Food is great!
IРІР‚в„ўve been around the world to lots of amazing places like Brazil and India, but travelling just makes me appreciate going back to home sweet home. IРІР‚в„ўm a Midwestern girl at heart, but now in the Bay Area and ready to find that great guy to share my experiences with.
I love biking and playing tennis. Chances are you’ll find me cruising along next to you on my two-wheeler, so say “hi!” next time we’re stopped at a light. As Bay Area residents, we can all appreciate tapping into that clean, renewable fuel source that we all know and love as carbohydrates. So sweet.
DonРІР‚в„ўt be a stranger! See you around town~
