I grew up in Pennsylvania and have worked and lived in Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas, and Arizona. I have spent some time overseas including working out of Scotland, a brief stint in Australia and several months in Iran. Now I’m rooted in the west and except for trips to see family and friends, prefer to stay west of the Rockies. Somehow snow in the Sierras seems much nicer than slush in Pennsylvania. I wouldn’t mind getting back to Australia and would love to visit New Zealand.
Family is very important to me. I enjoy my two sons, who presently live at home. My oldest has enlisted in the Navy and heads for basic training in November, then to Charleston where he will be in the Navy’s nuclear program. My youngest is home until January when he heads back to college. He had a very good time at last school year and apparently didn’t did waste a lot of time doing mundane things like attending class so he is sitting out a semester. His girlfriend came out this summer and he is highly motivated to get back to Colorado and do well. After January it’s just Joe, my Siberian Husky and me.
I enjoy my job, which involves overseeing construction and engineering projects in the LA Area and Hawaii. While my projects are south, I spend most of my time in the Bay Area.
I’m looking for someone who is laid back, active, has a good sense of humor and is affectionate. Good communications are key. If I say or do something wrong I would like to know what I did or said and not wonder why you are upset. I’m looking for a long term relationship and believe that can only happen with good communications. I’m flexible and like to try new things although opera is probably out. If you play golf or ski that is great. If you enjoy watching sports, live is better than TV, that’s a plus but not a requirement. Enjoying walks and dining out at quite restaurants is also a plus.

I have traveled a little. Been on a few cruises, been to the Big Island and went to Australia and loved it. I would love to go to Europe, I think mainly for the history and to see their normal furniture that is considered antiques by us. I have raced Porsche automobiles on courses all over California but do not any more. I have owned the fanciest of cars and now am more relaxed with a ten year old Taurus that I can park anywhere and not worry about door dings.
My current passion is historical walking tours of San Francisco. I found a company that has guided tours and I am learning a lot. I will bore you to tears with my knowledge – just let me talk because I do wind down. I am in training to become a guide – there I could bore people because they like it?
