i'm a veteran of the U.S. armed forces. After college, i worked 15 years in the high-tech industry until shedding my suit and tie for a career in film. it was like being born again. now i lead an "Indian Jones" kind of life. i make historical documentary films, which take me to the most remote and often dangerous corners of the earth. it's only when i return home to begin post-production that my life takes on a sense of normalcy again.
i've been an athlete all of my life. from organized sports such as high school football, varsity wrestling, summer football camps, to leisure sports such as long-distance swimming, tournament racquetball, even winning the pacific fleet naval superstars competition (something like the navy olympics). although i've mellowed out over the years, i still enjoy working out 4-5 times a week. but i wouldn't consider myself a jock.
i enjoy a snort of good kentucky bourbon now and then along with a good cigar (cuban preferably). maybe someone can save me from my wayward ways :)

Will we click? - The old saying goes, "opposites attract" and that may have an element of truth, but I believe that it is the similarities we share that makes longer lasting relationships. Differences are important - makes life interesting and fun, but for me, my partner and I should have similar core values and ideas. Born and raised in NY suburbs, Syracuse grad packed the car in '88 and drove to LA to fulfill my dream, to break into special effects. I'm definitely one of the lucky ones who is doing what they always dreamed of since the age of 11.
I'm a good communicator and am not afraid to talk about anything because understanding your significant other is important! Been told that I have a sexy voice which means I give great phone! (but would rather talk in person) Texting has it's place but not into "text abusers"... still would rather talk on the phone or in person.
I can be a goof (look at my patented pose in my pix!) and think I have a pretty good sense of humor, dry as it is., but never feel like I need to be center of attention - I leave that to others. Confident but not cocky which may be the NYer in me. I keep in shape at the gym but enjoy other forms of exercise as well. Pretty savvy with gadgets and computers, since they are tools of my trade. I have a nice big collection of dvds and a nice little collection of pocket watches.

The bird is the famous mascot duck from those funny insurance commercials. In one I am "puppeteering" him for a Japanese shoot and the green screen suit was during a US shoot.

Okay, here we go. I'm not very complicated, but I'm not a push over either. I guess I'm not too bad on the eyes, but that's the least of my concerns. It's best if you think you might have some interest in me to allow yourself to find out. I can describe myself all I want, but if you aren't interested, what's the point, right?
I do feel as if my time clock is ticking louder louder with each passing moment(be honest, you know that feeling-lol).
I want to find my best friend that hasn't made so many mistakes in their past that it will always haunt them for life. I come ex drama free, although I might provide some dramatic moments on my own! Having hope and being gracious is all we have to aspire to when things aren't going so great, but having a great time is much better, right ladies? All I ask for is the truth if things should ever get murky, I'm not jealous or anything like that, I expect the same in return. I realize at my age, without children and never having been married can and probably should be a red flag to most women(don't blame you for thinking that way), although it's not as it may seem. I've been engaged twice, in 4 relationships lasting over 4 years each and would have loved to have had something more happen, but it didn't. I'm definitely no player and if given the opportunity, you'd be pleasantly surprised by the way that I am.
This online dating stuff is very daunting and challenging, I am very aware that 90% of the women are seeking 10% of the men on match and probably vice-versa, what can I say, we're obviously here because "out there" hasn't been such a great story to tell-lol
