Meet someone special from California, United States. I have two great boys that I have shared custody with. We sometimes have Nerf Wars and Laser Tag at night. My 8 yr old is always trying to ambush someone. I hate to tell him that he’s not invisible. My 17 yr old, well he is a teen. I try to get him off the phone and computer so I"ll send my 8 yr old up the invisible man. As always though he’s retreating with a hail of nerf bullets following. When I'm not with them, I hope to find someone that I could enjoy spending time with. Of course everything starts with a "Hello". Date a soulmate from California, United States. My name is Mike, I have a son, born in December of 2006 whom I have every other weekend. I now know what my real purpose is in life, being my son's father, and feel very fortunate for it.
I was married once for 5 yrs but divorced in 03. We had no children.
So being divorced for many years now I find myself a little surprised that I would still be single after all this time. I have been on and off of sites like this one since then and am starting to think that maybe I should just come from the heart here and not just simply list the facts.
When I started my "new life" back in 03, I was in my late 30's, in better shape and was quite optimistic about finding my Real True Love. I had just been in a 5 yr marriage with a nice enough lady who was really my best friend and probably should have just stayed that way, and now I was free and I desired to find True Love. I really felt it would be easy enough especially with the internet and all the opportunities there. To my dismay I soon realized that there was a kind of paradox or irony to the Internet dating world and that finding a new love to go with my new life was going to be much more of a challenge than I had thought. With all the possibilities here on line it is easy to believe that any day now you're going to meet that special someone whom you could never have met before without this WWW venue. Well, here we are, some of us almost 10 yrs later, with the sobering realization that even in spite of all the availability of the internet there's a reason why that person is called "Someone Special" and it's because they are hard to replace.
For the first 5 yrs or so it's not too much of a concern. You are still in the beginning of your new life, you're still having fun partying and "playing the field" like a kid in a candy store and there's still plenty time to meet her, the one just for you, but time eventually adds up and you begin to feel your mortality, (and see it in the mirror). Now you are starting to think that time has become your enemy and you begin to get a little preoccupied with the thoughts of still being alone in your later 40's.
Maybe like me you have a child or children and the natural desire for a family structure is also adding to the awareness that you are single and still without any sign of the love you used to think was so easy to find.
So another year passes and you say, "I'm ready Lord, show me what you have planned for me", but no one is knocking at your door, no one is sending you a new text telling you "Here I am", and the days go by and you begin to wonder that maybe you're doing something wrong here. Maybe you aren't doing enough, maybe you should be on all the various dating sites or taking unneeded trips to the grocery store just to increase the odds of finally meeting her. ( Tried that one and there aren't too many hot chicks shopping at Winco)
Or maybe my profile is just a little too flat. A little dry and not from the heart.
Well it was thoughts like those that made me re-do my profile. What do you think?
As for me: I'm not a big Sports fan, or TV show watcher. ( I am into UFC ) I do like good movies though. I watch a lot of YouTube and Documentaries on Politics and World Government. I love a good coffee and top shelf Tequila.
I would eat a steak over a hamburger and chicken or fish over a plate of pasta and sauce, but I'm not obsessed with my diet. I work out at home usually and realize the benefits of staying relatively fit.
I love the water and the mountains although I do not get to either too often anymore.
I'm very open and expressive. You will know my opinions and preferences right away. I am a loving and demonstrative man and willingly express those feelings when appropriate.
