I am optimistic by nature. I wake up happy and look forward to each day. I have been blessed with happy chemicals in my system I believe. I like to stay busy and enjoy getting out and surfing, biking, running, walking the dog or just about anything that includes the outdoors. Relaxing to me does not include staying home on the weekends watching football or TV. If I am going to relax I would prefer to be lying on the beach. Taking a walk along the coast with my dog and a friend is also very relaxing. I live a clean healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly. I go to the gym a few times a week to take care of the essential cardio and resistance training to maintain fitness and truly do enjoy it. But when time allows I much prefer exercise in longer sessions outdoors doing the fun things. I want to do all of these things with a mate.
Someone recently told me they were looking forward to a quiet weekend alone. This sounded horrible to me! I am a people person. I want to be around others and especially want someone special to share in everything life has to encompass. That includes the grocery shopping, house chores, preparing meals etc., from making coffee to doing the dishes together at night. I want to be close always bumping into my companion and hugging and kissing playfully. I am very affectionate physically and I want a relationship where others take notice of how we greet each other with a hug, squeeze, and a kiss. And how we are always holding hands or how when we are sitting we sit are as close as two people can physically while sitting. I want to have my arm around my companion when waiting in line for coffee and will want to be able to kiss her when she laughs at something while laughing myself. Affection is not something I want to hide.
I don’t sweat the little stuff and am not irritable. I am not particular about insignificant things and like to live and let live. I am light hearted and want everyone around me to be happy and feel loved. Grace and kindness go a long way I believe.
I like to go out on Friday and Saturday nights when I can. Going out to me is happy hour with a drink or two and appetizers or dinner at a cozy restaurant. Late nights at bars and partying are not for me. Listening to music in the bar lounge area at the Shadowbrook in Capitola is perfect. So is sitting by the fire at the Red Room in Santa Cruz. Staying home is ok too! Talking and cuddling on the sofa while sharing in some wine and cheese would be nice.
I love my kids! I have poured my life into them while they were growing up. Now they are happy healthy teenagers with a lot of friends. I encourage them to have their friends over as I love being around young people and don’t mind the craziness having a group of teenagers around can entail. However they are now usually out with their friends and that leaves me with spare time I have not had in years. I am looking for someone to spend that time with!
I am a believer in the gospel and grace. I am not religious or judgmental.
I grew up in San Jose but my heart and soul belongs in Santa Cruz County now. I live in the mountains and it is beautiful. However my long term goal is to be on the coast within walking distance to the coastline.
