i believe our lives come from somewhere--the lives that preceded us, for one thing--and shape our outlooks in profound ways. i'm a student of culture, philosophy and psychology, the arts and the earth. i'm optimistic by nature, alive and happy at the core. in my spare time, i can be found exploring live music, shopping at farmer's markets, hosting dinner parties, and exploring museums and galleries in the area. i'm never happier than at an art opening or performance space with people i love who are into that sort of thing. or working in the garden. or cooking while drinking wine with friends. or at a noisy restaurant, with aforementioned loved others. or "other," one singular other loved person, the right person.
a gardener and landscaper, i aim to have chickens pecking about the yard before long, if i can get the henhouse built. my beautiful and amazing dog is never far from sight and keeps me out on local trails. i was once a dedicated cyclist; i do yoga almost daily. i am NOT a gym person.
i'm a songwriter and front man for a very occasional band, which, because they're all having babies, is now basically down to yours truly. (btw, do you have any friends who play pedal steel? i love you!) i'm drawn to the darker side of alt-country, rock and folk, music with a dystopian flavor (and film and literature, while we're at it). my taste in art is similarly dark around the edges, non-figurative, evocative. i just curated a show for a non-profit i'm involved with that had the most amazing art and raised a ton of money.
enough about me, what of you, gentle reader? it's wholeness i seek. beyond that, i'd hope you would be nice to the server, cute or pretty in your own way, that you'd be doing something worthwhile for work and enjoying the life of the mind. i'd wager you have an artistic streak (or career), that you're comfortable with emotional truth and open to new ideas. i'd hope you'd love dogs and be able to get on the floor with them. i think you'd want me to cook for you, even if it occasionally took all night to get something on the table worthy of our appetites and passions.

I also am choosing to down size and work less to pursue other things that matter to me - studying shamanism, being outdoors, traveling, having time to be with my partner. I am currently traveling for a week about every 6 weeks to teach.I am free to relocate for the right partner and the right place.

I love being out in nature - walking/hiking, the coast and beach, swimming/snorkeling.
