Date people from California, United States. People often say I have a dry sense of humor, but I think that's all wet. I will say, from my point of view, that I am both dress up (when needed) and dress down (when comfy). And that I 've had a front broken tooth since my brother and I were playing catch at the age of eleven (me) and the ball went thru the mitt and in my mouth. It' s a fond memory and part of my heritage.
Two of my most deeply felt art experiences happened at the Cloisters in a little room where they have one of the first oil paintings on view (late 15th Century) and at the Frick where I viewed my first in person Vermeer.A third art-full event happened in 1965, as I was hitching across the country after getting out of the Army (drafted), having spent a glorious time 900 miles from the North Pole (Thule , Greenland), and entering a museum in Chicago (believe it was the Chicago Art Institute). There on one wall was a Jackson Pollock that knocked my socks off, and it was across from "The Grande Jatte", by Seurat: talk about a double whammy!!!!
I enjoy the comedy of Louis Black and the satire/comedy of John Stewart, Colbert, and Maher, which leads back to Lenny Bruce and to Mark Twain (of all people). I've enjoyed the annual VisualAid Big Deal Show in November quite a few years. Made some good purchases and had a great time with fellow art lovers(and done some good for the Aids fight).
Saw a recent movie on cable that might show how varied my taste might be: "Zombieland". It was excellent, rules and all. Rule #32: enjoy the little things. And I still enjoy Godard ,Fellini, Bergman, Bertollucci, and Bresson.
I am separated from my wife and we have no intention of getting back together or divorcing at the moment.I am looking for a special woman who might understand such a situation and find time to explore the possibilities with someone who needs the caring, affection, and communication with a woman in a strong relationship.

I am seeking a compatible woman who is bright, educated, good-looking, financially comfortable and physically fit (I am not attracted to overweight women); it is important that she have a sense of humor (i.e., able to see the humorous side of life) and is not afraid of intimacy.
I have 2 (grown) children from a single long-term marriage. And, while I love both children totally, I'm not interested in have any more.
Currently, I own a home in the north Berkeley hills.
Date a soulmate from California, United States. I truly enjoy people from all backgrounds. I like people who are down to earth and do not have an overly high opinion of themselves. I enjoy women who are personable and enjoy the simple things in life.
I am basically a laid back person who enjoys a good laugh and good company. I become intense on issues involving trust and fairness.
Meet people from California, United States. I love people but have a quiet side. I love to laugh and appreciate a sense of humor.I like to have" alone time" too and read good books and listen to music.I am confident and comfortable with myself at this stage in my life. I am happiest having a close male companion - a 'best friend' and lover whom I can confide in, trust, and support and whom I can have fun with, who is in good physical health. Friends and family are also important to me for deep meaning in life.
I teach graduate students part time and direct plays. I'd like to travel more (I've been to Armenia, Italy, France, England, Germany)and do more playing and relaxing in my life.(I'm too good at working) Movies, plays, live music are some of my favorites things to do. I also love to go away for the weekend and do things spontaneously.
Date a woman from California, United States. For starters, I will tell you that my photos are current (that's my healthy 94-year-old mother with me), my smile genuine and I hope revealing of my easy-going nature. I am not sure what I can say to make myself "stand out from the crowd" so I will just share a bit about myself and let you decide.
I am a thoughtful and kind-hearted woman who enjoys the love of a small family and a circle of close friends--I wish that my family were larger, not my good fortune, but I love to hear about and experience the wonderful relationships in the families of others. I have been married twice (both times widowed)--from my first marriage I am fortunate to have a wonderful stepson and from my second marriage another son whom I raised basically as a single parent. I am close to both of them and so very grateful to have them in my life. I'm also the "grandmother" of 2 great kids who live next-door--what a gift!!
Simply speaking, I am searching for interesting and interested people to enlighten my thinking, make me laugh, and join me in celebrating the simple joys in life. Life is wonderful, especially with a special friend and lover, and I hope for moments when I feel that things just can't get any better!! Sports events, parties, and dance clubs are OK but I prefer quiet dinners, long walks, and intimate conversation.
My friends say that I am a good listener, supportive and insightful, good-humored, and ready to laugh, especially at myself. I am a down-to-earth woman without guile or pretense, and I accept people as they are. At this point in my life I am not trying to change anyone. I love spontaneity and am addicted to hugging!! Although I'm not a sexy 50-year-old, I have always felt, acted, and looked younger than my chronological age--my inner self feels about 48!!. And actually, isn't age just a state of mind??
I have lived/worked abroad and traveled extensively but still have many places to visit. And I always enjoy revisiting familiar places. Paris, Rome, Budapest--I'll be packed within the hour!! I care deeply about issues of social justice and feel strongly about the kind of world we are leaving to future generations. I am serious but don't take myself too seriously!! I am reflective and introspective and I value people who can laugh at themselves and be willing to learn and grow. I hope that I never stop learning!!
Even though I had a happy marriage, it did not come without many ups and downs and a lot of hard work. I know that love and passion can come again and I have much to offer, especially understanding and a loving heart!
So what kind of man am I looking for--a best friend whom I can respect and trust, support and cherish--a man who's curious, spontaneous, comfortable in his own skin, and oh so important, a man who can laugh easily. I'd like to be introduced to some of your pursuits and share some of my pleasures--an evening at the Marsh, museums, concerts, the opera or the ballet, lazy afternoons, a few whirls around the dance floor, cozy hours in front of the fire, a quiet dinner with friends, and travel just about anywhere. I know that relationships can be challenging but I am not easily defeated!!
Because life is precious and offers no guarantees, I try to accept what comes my way and not put things off until tomorrow. I am open to what lies ahead and hope to find an interesting, spontaneous friend//companion/partner to share the years ahead. If you want to join me, please do get in touch with an e-mail, not a wink. We'll have an exciting time, hopefully some wonderful adventures, and loads of fun!!
Meet a soulmate from Berkeley, United States. Though IРІР‚в„ўve dedicated my life to painting (a solitary enterprise) IРІР‚в„ўve never been interested in being an art nun. I love my life, my many friends, my cat and my work. I would love to meet a man with whom to share lifeРІР‚в„ўs curiosities and passions outside the studio.
Now retired, I supported my life as a painter mainly by teaching art to seniors. I probably learned the most from the most unassuming people. I have always been fascinated by how people think and what each person is able to understand. I loved teaching but not the paper work or the commute.
IРІР‚в„ўve travelled a fair bit, mostly throughout Europe and Asia. I love languages though French is the only language IРІР‚в„ўm comfortably fluent in.
For fun:
Getting together with friends, taking walks, being outdoors wherever, going to theatre, museums, galleries, good films, jazz and classical music concerts, exploring new places whether close to home or far away.
P.S. All my photos were taken in the last 5 years, kitchen one a month ago.
My ethnicity:
East Bay cosmopolitan
My religion:
Nature, the sun, a belief in the basic goodness of man. My church is the out of doors and my studio.
