Date someone special from Berkeley, United States. I'm a retired public policy consultant with a wide range of professional interests in educational technology, virtual learning, globalization, and social equity.
I am an active traveler who wants to see the world's wonders while brain and body hold out...and after that I'll try the cruise ships. (Several people have suggested small cruise ships only.) The latest trip was Myanmar (2012) where I've long wanted to visit before it is overwhelmed by the 21st century.
I am a blue jeans kinda guy, pretty easy going, an amateur foodie, like to hang out, but value my privacy also.
Meet men and women from Berkeley, United States. I am an accomplished, romantic and affectionate man who has had (and is having!) a very exciting and interesting life. I am looking forward to retirement from business life and the opportunity to explore and pursue new paths, goals and adventures and to share them with a loving woman. I am a young 72 with zero health issues and the energy to explore (not on a tour!) exotic places.( the upper Amazon and Mekong, Golden Triangle, Angkor, Burma, Kenya) I also love Europe, particularly Spain and Italy. I have the same weight and tone (well, almost, anyway :-)) as I had 39 years ago as a young Marine Corps Officer. (don't worry, I don't fit the stereotype and that was several transformations ago!)
I LOVE skiing! It would be great if you do but it's not a requirement. Travel is my passion now ( 24 countries so far), and I would love to have a partner to accompany me.
I am a photographer and a passable videographer and once worked 6 months doing both professionally.
I have an eclectic group of accomplished friends who I immensely enjoy socializing, traveling and playing with. Next to the woman I love, friends are the most important thing in my life. In addition to the many friends I have here, I have friends I know well enough to stay with in Brazil., Panama, Guatemala, Canada, Germany, Hawaii, Thailand, and Bali.
While my life has been interesting so far, it keeps getting better. I think age is more an attitude than a number as long as you have your health, and I fortunately do. My attitudes and outlook, BTW, are more of the 60's generation than those of people my chronological age. My "generational clock" was set back ten years because I went back to a university campus in the late 60's at age 29 for graduate school.
I was blessed with wonderful parents who instilled in me my core values (integrity, honesty, fairness, considerateness, kindness and generosity). I am adventurous and a risk taker. I have started four small businesses ( 2 successes, 2 failures) I have broken 10 bones over the years from skiing, motorcycling (I no longer ride), hang-gliding and roller-skating. I now only ski.The Irony is that I'm really a very responsible guy and very much concerned with the safety of my friends and partner.
Educationally/professionally I have a Ph.D in biochemistry and gave up a promising career in academia to start my own company marketing/selling scientific instruments to the biotech industry in California for 28 years. Though a scientist, I am a down to earth type of guy with a strong artistic/creative side that I have expressed in interior design, landscaping, planning and supervising the remodel of three houses ( no more, please!). I'm very handy with tools and house maintenance. My friends describe me as elegant with a strong aesthetic sense. I played little league sports as a kid and was once an avid football fan but you will never find me in front of a TV watching sports, except on Super Bowl Sunday.
I am an open, sensitive, but still masculine man who actually likes to talk about relationship issues with my partner; honest communication is key to a happy relationship. I seek an accomplished, smart and still sexy woman who is, above all, honest, kind, and happy. A woman not afraid of love and commitment who shares similar interests and values, but is free to have interests of her own. I would like an accepting, non-critical, not too opinionated woman who would love to have a confident, considerate, yet sensitive man who adores her and treats her very, very well. Could that be you?
If you think we share similar values and that we might be a match, please e-mail me with a little more about you then let's talk and get together. My photos are current and labeled with place and dates. I look like all of them now.
Re- reading this, it sounds so serious! I'm also playful, gregarious and fun loving with a great sense of humor!
Date a man from Berkeley, United States. I'm a retired academic who is looking for a female companion with whom I could share some common interests and pleasures. I like to read, write, listen to music, play piano, work out in the gym, travel, converse, meditate, walk, and garden. I've always been passionate about ideas, music, and art. I love Asian art in particular and have a fondness for antique oriental rugs, of which I have a small collection. I'm healthy and in good shape. I'm looking for an intelligent, attractive, sensitive, affectionate, and compassionate woman. Commonalities are important but chemistry is the key.
Meet a soulmate from Berkeley, United States. I enjoy life! Have experienced much in life and learned from it. Enjoy the funny things in life as well as the serious. Since my wife of 42 years passed away 3 yrs. ago I have finally decided that it's time to enjoy the company of another woman, who has decided she's tired of being lonely also. I think I'm smart enough to be able to fulfill your needs of intellectual and emotional gratification? From past experience, Iv'e found that I don't hit it off too well with liberals. Other than that, I'm a fun kind of guy who thinks for himself. Would love meeting a woman of like mindedness. Let's chat over the phone or email and see where it leads.
