I was widowed ten years ago. After I got over my rage and regained my equilibrium I took off. I joined the Peace Corps and served for two years in Azerbaijan. The next year, I volunteered at Mt. Rainier and Yellowstone National Parks for five months. Within a year I was in Liberia with Peace Corps Response. They were all wonderful experiences. And I came to embrace independent travel -using local transportation, eating street food, and finding entertainment from puppet theaters to concert halls.
I love my sons, my neighborhood, house and garden. I am a museum docent (an opportunity for endless learning and great friends) and I work in ceramics.

** I got an email asking why "it's been 22 years since I've dated" -- so here's "the rest of the story"... The love of my life was diagnosed as having a rare disease in 1997. So wadda ya do when your husband is diagnosed with this bad disease you never heard of-- you go traveling, of course! Not too far, but exciting for us: helicopter to Catalina.....drive to Lake Tahoe..... crossed Baja from San Felipe to Ensenada.....flew to Las Vegas -- you get the picture. I was sooo glad we did this -- we had lots of fun later when he could not travel as we looked at photos and had fun w/memories. So, there you go with the rest of the story...
