I moved to San Diego nine months ago and so far, I'm loving it. I grew up in Southern California and went to college in Los Angeles. I miss LA for some of its cultural attractions, but other than that, I'm glad to be away from the traffic and rude people. haha
I'm currently a tutor and SAT teacher. For sure, just a transition. In my free time, I like to volunteer with research and some other things (ask me), go on random adventures/hike, and just hang out with friends. Date a girl from United States. I just moved here from Mississippi so I'm looking to meet new people. It'd also be nice to meet people outside the bar scene. I moved here with no job, no family, no friends ... But I was employed in less than 2 weeks. I went from working in sports and non profit back home to working for a biofuel company out here. It's a nice change of pace however I would like to end up back in sports one day.
I grew up a classically trained ballerina and danced through college but haven't taken a ballet class in about a year! I've recently gotten into ballet type workouts like Pure Barre and the Barre Method so that kinda counts as ballet class, right? I also love finding new places to run and hike here. I'm still exploring the city but I feel like even being here for several years there would be exploring to do. I like trying new activities. I recently went sky diving and I just bought a groupon for spear fishing. I also have a rambling spirit. I've been known to sporadically buy plane tickets to places on a whim. It makes for some fun stories.
As for the guy ... I've been told I'm very picky. Chances are if you have a pic on match with your car or a cell phone pic you took of yourself, you're not my type. .. Im from Mississippi so I like the perfect combination of a country boy and a gentleman. By country I mean you hunt and fish and know how to survive in the woods and don't mind camping in the woods for a few days. No pretty boy guys who can't get dirty. I also dislike gelled hair or any guy who appears to primp longer than me.
DEAL BREAKERS: I don't want to date anyone who is not physically fit and does not take care of their body. I also am not interested in dating someone who is not a Christian. I've been down that road before, and it does not work for me in a dating relationship. However, if you just want to hang out and be friends, I don't care what you believe religiously. I have a big heart for lots of different people and enjoy meeting new friends from all backgrounds. AND Gotees. Ok, not really a deal breaker .. but seriously, they are hideous. I grew up all over the place so have had to get used to adapting to new situations and new environments, which has really helped me be a very social person. Many of my friends can tell you that I am the kind of person that could just talk about anything and everything and am able to really either open up a person or make things a little more comfortable by helping the conversation flow. But I am also a really good listener. My friends are second most important to me. They practically are family since most of my immediate family lives in either Texas or Kansas where I grew up a little bit of a country girl. Even though I am a born California girl I am not afraid to bait a fishing line, get a little muddy, or do a little hard work either while still being a bit of a girlie girl. Growing up I did a ton of fishing in the Puget Sound in WA, grew up riding horses most of my life, just got into paddle boarding and have taken up bringing my dog with me as well (makes things much more difficult), you'll see me at torrey pines hiking around there at times, or just cruising around on my bike. I like to spend the few days I have off with friends or out and about doing something rather than cooped up in the house. I have a lot of goals in life that I have yet to accomplish, but work very hard to get there everyday.
I do looove to cook especially for other people. BBQs are definitely a favorite of mine...definitely been known to host my fair share of them especially during the summer time. I avoid drama! I tend to just run away from it not just avoid it. Why stress yourself out with other peoples drama?

The passion I have for my job gave me an extra push to go back to school to get my Aesthetics License, I just graduated and glad to be done.
In my free time I enjoy being active, Pilates is my exercise of choice but I like going to the gym and getting my cardio on, go hiking (when it isn't so hot), bike rides etc. It is always nice to have someone who shares the same lifestyle, but isn't addicted to it. Meat heads kind of freak me out...actually...yea they do. I love to cook and bake, I am not a chef by any means but baking is my thang. I bake some mean Banana Bread Cupcakes...yum. Now let me tell you a little bit about myself, I landed in San Diego about two years ago and work as an Art Director for a silk screen company. I graduated from the University of Oregon and love my Ducks and all the shenanigans associated with football season. At this point you may be thinking to yourself, "Just another girl who studied liberal arts in college and knows her way around a PETA convention" but that my friend is where you are mistaken... I'm not your normal everyday chick who drives my Prius to Starbucks to get an orange mocha frappuccino then window shops at Abercrombie and Fitch.
After college I took a year off to travel. I've backpacked through 5 continents, drank snake wine in Vietnam, gone skydiving in Switzerland, taken a shot of whiskey with Johnny Knoxville, and I've torn up an international border crossing better than Jumanji, before the hurricane but after the rhinos. And those are just a few of the stories that are appropriate to put on my profile, haha.
Although I've been all around the world I love San Diego and all the city has to offer. Particularly all the local Microbreweries around town, those babies are hotter than Hansel right now! My favorite holiday is Halloween and I'll take any costume party excuse I can find to dress up and don a mullet or finger mustache. If it's sunny I like to be outside, and am always psyched for a camping trip. I love to go running on Sunset Cliffs, crunch it at the gym, and stay in shape.

outside of work, my passion is soccer. if i could play every day, i probably would!! if it involves sports, i'm probably in. i'll watch almost any sport on tv, especially hockey and football. my teams are the ducks, red wings and chargers. don't ask me to root against them, cuz it's never gonna happen! because of my love of sports and how active i am, i would like to meet someone who is fairly active as well. no need to be working out constantly, but at least be up for biking around the beach or going for a hike every once in a while. i tend to be a fairly low-key kind of girl when it comes to how i'd like to spend my free time. i would much rather spend my weekends hanging out with friends at someone's house than going to bars or clubs. my idea of a good Saturday would be spending the day at the beach with friends, then cooking dinner and watching a movie. with that in mind, if your idea of a good time is drinking to the point where you stumble out of the bars at the end of the night, then we're probably not a good match. don't get me wrong though, i still enjoy going out to bars with friends every once in a while. i would just rather spend my time at the bars having a good time with my friends, not seeing how many drinks i can have before my allergy kicks in. I think the best things I’ve come to know about being happy and loving well is to give people the benefit of the doubt, appreciate weirdness, and just....relax. Drama instigators, rigid rule followers, and people who see the world in “black and white” are not usually found in my close circle of friends, but I’ll hang out and have a good time with almost anyone. Meet a girl from California, United States. I live on the west coast but have a straight up east coast kind of attitude since I've lived in Connecticut almost my entire life. I'm blunt and to the point, sincere, caring, and out going. Love to meet and talk to new people, but also shy and a bit hesitant when it comes to new social situations.
I have two small dogs that sometimes seem to consume my life with trips to the dog beach or dog parks And yes I dress them up in cute little outfits, its hilarious, get over it! . A fun fact, I like to play fantasy football. This has been my third year in the "Pink Ladies League", it is an all girls league with some of my closest friends! Super excited that I made it to the playoffs this year!
Since I've been out here on the west coast, I've taken 4 surfing lessons. My first lesson I actually did a head stand on the board riding a wave (on purpose), now I can't even stand on the board.
My circle of friends has really grown since I've been out here, and they really fill some of the void that comes with living away from the fam. Cooking is one of my passions, my nickname amongst my friends is "Betty". I love trying new recipes and entertaining
As for what i'm looking for in someone, probably someone who can put me in my place (nicely), competitive, funny, sarcastic, sweet and cuddly! Someone who's romantic, but not overly romantic. Someone who's adventurous, goal orientated, has strong family values, and lives a healthy lifestyle. Someone who can have a work/life balance, and has their priorities in order.
I always strive to be a better person, I know i'm not perfect and I don't expect anyone else to be. I have a strong work ethic, and have high expectations for myself. My work schedule is quite demanding, so yoga is mandatory at least twice a week to keep me sane. In some ways I'm a bit traditional, but i'm not looking for so much the traditional life/lifestyle. I don't like things to be the same or boring, I always need something to be changing, otherwise i feel stagnant.
