. I am liberal, green, literate, lover of language, music, travel. I speak Italian. I have visited 39 countries & lived in several major capitals of the world. The last one was L.A. which I hated and when my former husband of 31 years left to marry one of his students, I moved (to heal) to the idyllic central coast village of Cambria, equidistant between L.A. & S.F. I hadn't intended to stay here so long (13 years) but cannot seem to leave even though I now find it moribund.
The reason I ended up in L.A. was because I met my former husband, a famous California Sculptor, in Rome. He is a fellow of the American Academy in Rome, having won the Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1963 & 64. We were married in London. We lived a year in Spain & because he was from L.A. that's where we ended up making our home. We returned many times to Italy to use the bronze casting foundries & to buy marble in Carrara.
Now I enjoy not living in a big city, however Cambria is an isolated village, I would prefer a small city like Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo. Actually if I had my druthers I would like to live in a hill town in Italy or France though within easy distance of a city.
I am keen to find a mate who is not necessarily a "Match". Someone whom I can surprise every day, make happy and make laugh, and who would do the same for me.
Although I would like him to be accomplished, he doesn't have to have any particular abilities, talents or skill, as long as I loved him & he loved me, and we wanted the best for each other & each had our own free time.
