Date a soulmate from California, United States. Oh, what to say about me. Hmmmmm. In my free time, I like reading a good book and riding horses. Riding in the Sierras keeps me humble and the views are awe-inspiring. I also lake kayak (hint-my kayak is a two person kayak), day hike and X-country ski. I get lost easily so I need a good navigator-a retired boy scout is good for that. I haven't had the time to devote as much time to those things since I had children but they're getting older and I'm finding I have more and more free time.
My favorite things to eat are a good steak, paella and jambalaya (I have a great recipe). I have visited Spain, Mexico and Canada and would like to visit the UK and Ireland in the future. I love animals and have 2 horses, 2 dogs, a cat and a goldfish. I also have a multitude of gophers, squirrels, bats, skunks, birds and snakes that came with the property. Frogs too. I don't go to church often right now but, regardless, I have to try just as hard to be an exemplary and kindly person. My favorite charity is St. Jude Children's Hospital which treats children with cancer (I can't imagine being told that my child has cancer and probably won't live). St Jude's pays for all treatments, plane fare for the family to Memphis and their housing and food too.
My favorite music tends to lean to jazz and blues and I love Miles Davis' music (definitely have a weakness for trumpets) - I also like Led Zeppelin and Nickelback among others. BUT my very favorite music is flamenco.
I love humor - there is nothing better than sharing a laugh with a loved one. My ideal match would have an optimistic view on life. He'd be a smart fella with a great sense of humor (I adore funny people) and he would take pride in his accomplishments. He would have a kind manner and be responsibile. He would also be a rather complex person but hot take himself too seriously. Looks aren't that important to me. We all lose them at some point in our lives. Intelligence and humor are the most important and I do like to be attracted to the person I'm dating. Physical beauty is nice but I consider it a perk not a requirement.
Some consider online dating suspect because people can say anything they want about themselves. But that's true of any setting. I feel that you can gain insight into a person's personality by reading their profile. A person can write what they want about themselves and that doesn't tell much. It's how they write it. Even if the powers that be write the profile, the person it's written for has to approve it. Even that gives a little window into their character.

Date a woman from Auberry, United States. Interested in companionship, shared interests, travel buddy, friendship possibly blossoming into more....someone with a sense of humor, good communication skills....I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains east of Fresno so that I can enjoy kayaking on the nearby mountain lakes and hike and cross country ski from the trailheads. ..Have had an enjoyable career in college teaching and may retire in a year or so....love the mountains but open to living in other places.....have two great sons in their early 30's....one's an attorney with an environmental focus, the other is a marriage and family therapist. Lots of things make me happy: the peaceful, relaxed feeling after a yoga class; shopping at a farmer's market, a home cooked meal with friends and/or family; a swim in a mountain lake; the color orange; fresh flowers in a vase on the dining room table; enjoying the hot tub under the stars in the mountains at 5000 '; watching a good film. I have a positive outlook and feel fortunate to have good health, great family and friends and a fulfilling career.
