Date young girl from California, United States. Supportive, independent, affectionate, intelligent. I guess all the standard things. Someone who makes me happy; no complications, just inexplicable, easy happiness. Someone who wants a committed, monogamous relationship.
Meet a girl from Albany, United States. - Born and raised in the bay area. (Though I haven't always lived here)
- I love my dogs more than anything.
- I'm a vegetarian but I could care less if you are or aren't. I think it's a personal choice and won't try to convert you as long as you don't try to convert me. Deal? Awesome.
- I went to photography school and modeled for a short time.
- These days I work as a teacher. I love it.
- Laughing is pretty much my favorite thing to do. That includes laughing at myself, with myself, by myself... I'm not picky.
- I sometimes feel like an old lady trapped in a 24 year old's body. That's not to say I don't enjoy going out... But often times I'm just as happy having friends over or cuddling up at home.
- I'm obnoxiously competitive, but only when playing board games, card games etc.
- I love to travel, New Zealand probably being my favorite destination thus far.
- I love being outside, I have a favorite three mile hike that I've been doing for years, for some reason it never gets old.
- I grew up riding horses. I was on the back of a horse before I was on my own two feet.
- I can't ride a bike. It's really embarrassing but I'd love to learn. People have tried to teach me, all have failed. Up for the task?
- I love to express myself creatively. Whether its through my clothes, playing around with my cameras, pretending I can draw... However it manifests itself on any given day, it is a very important outlet for me.
- I'm a pretty good cook, have some amazing family recipes (I bet you I can make the best marinara sauce you've ever tasted) but would love to know more. At some point, hopefully soon, I would love to take some cooking classes.
- Generally speaking, as long as people are respectful towards me, I'm pretty easy to get along with. I think life is just more fun that way.
As for what I'm looking for... It depends what I find. In all honesty, I work a lot and am slightly disillusioned by my experiences with men I've met in the "bar scene." Some of my work friends convinced me to give this a try. I don't really have any expectations but I'm open minded.
But if I had to give details... someone who makes me laugh, has eclectic interests, is confident but not cocky, smart but still wants to learn, enjoys sarcasm, is openminded, takes risks and just generally loves life. In terms of looks, while I have preferences... I have dated all kinds. So for the sake of argument, looks don't matter but attraction definitely does.
** I have both photos of me as a blonde and photos of me as a brunette up here. I was blonde for years and years and just recently went dark. So in order to have more photos, I included some blonde ones as well.
Date someone special from United States. 27 Helens agree: I've always been a very creative type with an old soul, but I'll never say no to a good concert or a lively party. I'll always say yes to karaoke. Dancing keeps me young, laughter keeps me grounded. I'm a loyal friend that can be goofy or sentimental, whatever is called for.
On a personal level, I'm very passionate about improving my skills as a dancer, artist, and chef. In fact, I'm setting out on a long journey away from my current sales/marketing career, hoping to find myself back in the arts world. On a global sense, I'm very passionate about food politics, animal rights, environmental causes, and people finding their joy and calling -- because, doesn't everyone deserve that chance? Just saying. I have a very broad taste in music (everything from The Knife to Hossam Ramzy to Simian Mobile Disco to The Specials).
I'd like to find someone who shares similar interests, or at least can understand them. I appreciate dedication, compassion, hard work, and integrity in a person, and especially in a partner. Anyone in my company MUST LOVE FOOD like I do. It's also helpful if you're sure you'd be cool with my cats. They're cool, too. I would like to (eventually) be in a long-term relationship, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to just meeting some new, positive, fun people to hang out with! I always love adding new friends to my circle. Or creating new circles, or squares, whatever.
P.S. Perhaps it's worth noting that I have tattoos and am very open to/interested in tasteful, thoughtful body art. If that is something that makes you squeamish, I'm happy to explain why I believe in it as self-expression. If you're completely turned off by this, then don't bother telling me why you think it's wrong. Live and let live!
Meet single girl from United States. Hmmm this one is a bit tough to fill out...I may have to come back to it.
I'm very honest and funny. I'm very easy to get along with and I'm told I'm a kindhearted & sweet person.
I enjoy the simple things in life and like to remind others to do the same. I like doing a variety of things, just kinda depends on what strikes the mood. I like practicing martial arts, yoga and kickboxing. I also like going on hikes, walks, trying new things. I enjoy learning new things and love to learn how things work.
I think this is enough for now. If you'd like to know more, just ask :)
Date someone special from United States. Adventurous, willing to try new things at least one before saying no.
Traveling, that's a big part of my life.
Food, love cooking and eating.
Learning, one can never stop learning in life.
Dogs, I love dogs.
Meet a soulmate from United States. I like bright colors, sheer honesty, absurd humor, spicy Thai food, genuine kindness, Brazilian jazz, and realistic optimism. I love the pioneering spirit and freedom of California, which has made me more relaxed and creative. But IРІР‚в„ўve kept my East Coast ambition, strength, and values: I work hard, show up when I say I will, and am there for my friends and family no matter what. I try to live a meaningful, fun and creative life. As a therapist, IРІР‚в„ўve worked with kids in Oakland Public Schools and homeless women in Berkeley. IРІР‚в„ўm honored to help people, and I love that thereРІР‚в„ўs no such thing as an ordinary day--IРІР‚в„ўm continually surprised, humbled, and in awe of peoplesРІР‚в„ў life stories.
My passion for music makes room for Jeff Buckley, Suzanne Vega, Thelonius Monk, the Shins, Allison Krauss, Bob Dylan and Brahms, to start with. I love seeing anything live, whether it's at YoshiРІР‚в„ўs, Davies Symphony Hall or a hole-in-the-wall in the Mission. Have been playing piano and singing for years, and am starting to write some tunes.
I also love going to museums, movies, dance performances, and plays. I’d like to be fluent in Spanish one day, but for now I try to pick up what I can by reading Borges, watching Almodovar films or listening to “La Calle.” Enjoy being outdoors--staircase walks in SF, hiking in Tilden, last-minute road trips on Sunday, despite the laundry piling up. I’m adventurous in the sense of trying new things and exploring the world. Not a big physical risk-taker, although I did burn out the soles of my sneakers hiking an active volcano in Guatemala. I also have a reflective side to me, which I nurture by playing music, meditating, or reading.
My hope here is for a spectacular and supportive relationship. WeРІР‚в„ўll see success in each otherРІР‚в„ўs futures and help to achieve those goals. WeРІР‚в„ўll make each other laugh. IРІР‚в„ўll know our love is deep and true when your struggles and shortcomings are as dear to me as everything else about you. But letРІР‚в„ўs start by having a great first date.
Date a woman from United States. Hmmm, describe myself? I am funny and I like to laugh. I can be quiet sometimes, and even shy--though I do like public speaking, go figure! My family is uber important to me and I love them to smitherines, yeah, I said it, smitherines!
I am very attracted to funny guys--witty and sarcastic especially. I also think family oriented guys are attractive, though I'm not looking for a daddy for my babies, just someone with similar values!
I like being active and I especially love kick-boxing, though I don't practice it anymore. Some other athletic-type activities I enjoy are weight training and running. You don't have to be Mr. In-Shape for me, just someone who enjoys being active.
I also love being out in nature--it can be hiking a trail, or walking the beach, just as long as it is outside. I think it is great to go for a hike on a grey day.
Well I'm not sure what else to say, so I guess you'll have to find out the rest for yourself!
. I strive for balance in my life, and believe that maintaining my physical, emotional, and spiritual health gives me the inner strength I need to show up for the people I care about. I have two awesome small kids whom I love more than anything, I have a rewarding and challenging professional career, and I am involved in non profit groups because I believe you get what you give, and I want to model that for my kids. I am pretty high energy, but I also crave moments of stillness and serenity - so much so, that I wake nearly every morning at an ungodly hour so that I can exercise and meditate before the demands of the day kick in.
Humor is really important to me (particularly quick-witted banter), and I love both laughing and making others laugh. I love dressing up and going out for great food, arts and film, and music, but I also love watching a British comedy or HBO drama at home on the couch with nibbles and a glass of wine, and someone to share them with. I love to travel and would like to return to it after a kid-related hiatus.
I was the first child in my family to go to college, and I am really proud of that. I am pretty self sufficient and independent in most ways, and would enjoy spending time with someone who also gets the Jack Donaghy jokes on 30 Rock (and finds them funny!). I am a Myers-Briggs ENTP personality type; if that means something to you, especially if you know and like other ENTPs in your life, we should chat.
So, in short, balance is key: work, home, kids, activity, stillness, humor, compassion, health, and indulgence. All of these together make me the happy, healthy, loving person I am.
What I am looking for on Match: You are smart, with good written and oral grammar. You are really, really funny, but manage to be compassionate toward others as well. You are educated, cultured, and value continuous learning, but appreciate the gifts of a working class background. You keep yourself in shape and know not to wear white running shoes with jeans for a night out. You are secure with yourself, such that you are able to be gracious to others and accept their humanity and faults. You enjoy probing conversation over small talk. You are a bit old fashioned about courtship, and will call me rather than waiting for me to call. You may not be on Match at all, but hey, I might as well have this profile out there since I rarely interact with single people in my regular life. Thanks for reading.
. My friends would say I am loyal, generous and sweet but also intense, quick thinking, ridiculously silly sometimes and way too serious other times. I am pretty energetic, can talk a million miles a minute, but also really like the silence that comes when you are off in the woods or just existing with a good friend. I work in an intense, analytical job that I really love; I am very curious about the world and how things work and love learning new things. Fairly middle-of-the-road girl-next-door in some ways, I am not super fanatical about anything but like variety in my life. I am down to earth, intellectual, traditional and completely non-conventional - all at the same time. I value a somewhat silly sense of humor, being balanced between ambition and leisure, and being grounded without getting too new-age-y about it. A sharp mind coupled to a quick smile, self-confidence coupled with some humility for your good fortune - that both describes me and describes what I look for. Curiosity, chivalry, kindness, ambition, warmth, humor, energy, intellect - all good things in my book. If you fit the bill, we should get together.
. Most people would say IРІР‚в„ўm fun-loving, gregarious, kind, open-minded, passionate, non-drama and seem younger than 40 (hopefully that's a goood thing?).
It would be nice to fall naturally into a relationship (I only date one guy at a time), but I'm happy with my life and not interested in getting married or moving in with anyone too soon. But I'm looking for a guy that's interested in spending a lot of time doing fun, spontaneous, interesting things together. I'm not a good match for workaholics, 'players,' or commitment phobes.
WHAT I'M INTO
Music is a *huge* part of my life. I see it live at least once a week, and spend a lot of time reading about it and listening to tracks of new bands on the rise. Mostly indie and rock...all over SF and Oakland. But I gravitate to soulful lyrics like Iron Wine and Dawes. On the flip side, I recently saw Social D and love seeing classic street punk at the Uptown. (Ideally, you can hang with that.).
I borrowed a piano a few months ago and started learning to play, but I've had a lot of distractions and business that have chewed into my practicing. :-/ Trying to change that...
I'm not into TV (except Anthony Bourdain...love that man), but have been into movies since I watched the classics as a kid. My all-time favs include:
- The Notebook
- High Fidelity
- Blade Runner
- Dr. Zhivago
- Lost in Translation
- So I Married an Axe Murderer
- Dazed Confused
I daydream about where to travel next. I've been to 11 countries including Tunisia. I never mind going places by myself... at home or abroad. More chance to meet new people and stumble upon unexpected experiences and adventures.
Besides that, I like getting outside in the fresh air... organic gardening, kicking around the soccer ball, riding my Razor, dancing, hiking, skiing.
CAREER
Going on 18 yrs in high-tech public relations...right now at a fun successful startup.
But after that long in tech, I recently decided I need a change. So I'm spending a lot of my free time networking and trying to figure out how to make a living (financially) doing live music promotion. I'm getting there little by little. Where there's a will, there's a way!
Since I tend to be a high-energy Type A during the week, I look forward to weekend mornings of la dolce far niente. 'The sweetness of doing nothing.' I love wrapping myself up in a sheet to make good, dark coffee, and then hopping back into bed to drink it while warm sun streams through the windows or rain falls on the patio outside. It's therapeutic.
IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING
Yes, I have 2 wonderful, hilarious, loving children that live with me 50% of the time. I'm still really amicable with my ex. That leaves me a lot of free time to go out, date, take long weekends, do my own thing, and basically...be in a relationship if things work out that way.
YOU SHOULD CONTACT ME IF...
You're more interested in meeting offline than messaging. The only way to find out if we have chemistry is to meet, so let's do it!
Worst case? We've had wine or a pint together and parted ways. I can think of worse ways to spend an evening.
