Date a soulmate from United States. I’m looking for someone open to a long-term relationship who wants to enjoy life together – to laugh and play; to share romantic moments; to engage in smart, thoughtful discussions ranging from the inter-personal to the political world around us; to hike, bike or simply stroll the beach; and to cherish peaceful meditative moments.
I grew up in the Bay Area and did my undergraduate and graduate school work at Cal. I feel lucky to be living in such a beautiful part of the world. I work hard and I enjoy what I do because it challenges my mind and makes a difference.
I also enjoy play time. My primary outdoor sport these days is cycling. On weekends, you'll often find me biking Bay Area hills. I like movies, theater (Berkeley Rep is great), weekend adventures, dinners with friends laced with great conversation, and domestic and international travel (Paris is my favorite city so far). I used to be an avid scuba diver but haven't found time for it in recent years.
I'm a good listener and friend, and I'm not afraid of dealing with human emotion. I would like the same in my partner. Life throws us unexpected challenges; we should support each other as we face them. Life is also short and we should make the most of it, enjoying it as much as we can.
Meet single man from United States. Thanks for taking the time to read my profile.
My closest friends would describe me as responsible, reliable, outgoing and fun loving. However, I (sometimes) act half my age and drag my knuckles on the floor during social occasions. HA!
What makes me smile? A good joke, a funny story or movie, two lovers walking down the beach hand in hand. (Damn, I love a nice warm beach).
I'm most proud of the fact that I moved out here from Long Island, New York and made a success of my life. I didn't know anybody, had no job lined up and no specific destination in mind. Spent 25 years as a senior executive with the Los Angeles Times, got early retirement and started a business.
I'm grateful that I am still alive and kickin'. I have my health, a nice home, boat and two great dogs, (Murphy and Uncle Bob).
I like lots of different types of people. I'm hoping to attract a fun loving person with a good sense of humor.
My social life at this time (mostly) revolves around boating. I spend a lot of time on the water and interact with many other boaters.
I'm looking for someone I get along with to (perhaps) travel down the road of life with. Also just looking for a casual date to spend some (quality) time with. Who knows what might happen with these things?! I say just keep an open mind and see where it leads. A wise man (or woman) once said: "Life is not a dress rehearsal".
I'm most passionate about boating and anything to do with the water. I own a 43' yacht named Her Way I keep on the Delta. She's a great ride, in great shape and extremely reliable. (Sounds like I should be dating the boat, huh?) Both of my businesses revolve around the water and I'm a Pisces. (Not that that means anything to me). So there you have it. I'm a simple guy with simple tastes. Drop me a line. Let's see what develops!
Seriously, I'm looking for someone to "share" my life with. I'm happy with where I am but would feel more "fulfilled" with a significant other at my side.
