I've been a romantic since the 7th grade when I carved my initials and my boy flame of the month inside a heart on newly poured cement. Forty years later our brief romance was still immortalized in concrete. I find pleasure in simple things - a walk on Coronado, or anywhere beautiful, watching the sunset, coffee with a good friend, time spent with my grandson, gardening, yoga, dancing, golf, reading a good book, trying a new recipe or fixing a favorite one, casual dining. I also like fine dining, the Symphony, Boadway plays and musicals, Summer Pops, Humphrey's, live local theater, charitable events, and of course, travel. For over 10 years I belonged to various tennis clubs and played twice a week. When my daughter went off to college I took up flying, and flew out of Montgomery Field for about 5 years. It was thrilling and I miss those days. Now I've taken up golf and it is the most challenging and humbling sport of all - makes flying and skiing look easy. I am retired from a 30 year career in education (actually loved my job and co-workers.) I am financially secure and life is good.
