I love the challenges and creative aspects of the field, and every day is something to look forward to. The tough economy has tested my resolve, but so far I’m weathering the storm. Happily, my health is good, the people are fun, the work continues to be rewarding.
Lately I've spent a lot of time in Cyber Hell, trying to figure out my computer, digital camera and iphone. My struggles have given a lot of people a lot of laughs. Somehow, they’re not impressed by the fact that I once operated the IBM 360, which could fill an entire warehouse. Slowly but surely, I’m making progress. My computer issues are becoming well known to the people in India. As to the camera, it turns out that I'm gifted at composition, and I can bring a lot of my nature hikes and general nosiness home with me. The iphone has a lot of pretty colors and stuff that moves aroud all over the place.
Since my last relationship ended abruptly two years ago, I keep busy with the outdoors, family gatherings, friends from work, reading and writing, coffee houses and movies. The big thing missing is that Significant Other to share things with. I’m beginning to realize she’s not going to appear out of thin air, and I’m excited about the potential of this site. It’s kind of like finding a date for the prom, without the acne.
For my next love, besides the usual sweetness and light, I’m hoping to find someone with integrity, enthusiasm, and a sense of adventure. We will accept each other as is, and confer upon each other full First Amendment rights. Humor makes my day, and I appreciate people who feel likewise. Meet a soulmate from California, United States. As a kid, I hated to go to sleep for fear I'd miss something interesting. That sense of curiosity is still one of my most defining characteristics. I'm an adventurous risk taker who's had a wonderfully exciting life. I've had a successful career, have two terrific, grown, married children, and have traveled a fair part of the world. I fortunately inherited good genes - I'm attractive, slim, healthy and full of energy. I see no reason to slow down while I'm still having fun!
My interests are wide and varied. Theater, movies, music, arts, constant and varied reading, big cities and wild country, gourmet or ethnic dinners in restaurants or good food cooked at home. I love the outdoors and do challenging and beautiful hikes (a great substitute for running, which I did for decades until I did in my knees). I ski, camp, swim, kayak, and am trying to improve my cycling. I work out regularly but draw the line at bungee jumping! While I enjoy action, culture and travel (wonderful recent adventures hiking in the Greek Isles combined with more civilized time in Athens, and hiking the classic Inca trail and time in the Peruvian Amazon) - what many people consider "work" is still important to me. I thrive on intellectual challenge and have integrated my professional career as an architect with earlier experience as an economic analyst. I now do strategic facility planning as a consultant, which provides the best of all worlds: Stimulating work from a home office with enough free time to indulge my passion for travel, reading and adventure, plus time for friends. I'm financially secure (whew! in these horrible times, a great relief) and fortunate enough to be able to be active and engaged with the world, I'm doing more and more non-profit consulting work in Marin.
