Date someone special from United States. I am an easy going liberal professional father with one son visiting me on weekends and the other away at college. I love my sons and my business. Yoga has brought me a great deal of inner peace and strength. I exercise often and try to eat mostly natural foods especially vegetarian in the last few years. I am in good shape and good health. I am a very positive person and believe life is good and has a purpose even tho I don't fully understand it. I am a volunteer cook at the Petaluma Kitchen and it is one of my favorite activities of the week. I am also a mentor for a Junior High School student in Petaluma. I attend weekly yoga meditation and chanting evenings in SF and look forward to them. My partner, companion, friend, lover, should be positive, healthy, professional able to laugh and have fun doing simple things such as a trip to the ocean or great dinner in SF. She should like hugging, kissing, and all kinds of physical expressions of affection and love. If she liked the movie,"What the Bleep" that is good but not necessary. I do like teachers, artists and creative women. I like a woman who keeps herself looking young and good looking in appearance but not fanatic about her looks. I would like her to have faith in goodness and love and/or faith in God as I do. She needs to be independent from any strict religious organization. She needs to be her own person. I"m an old very young at heart laid back hippy type. I"m a warm, compassionate, affectionate, at times mischievous, glass is half full kinda a guy. I've done my share of living a "normal" life...wearing suits, running mental health programs , helping people, making money, being married more than once, raising more than one family, etc, etc.. Now its my turn! I do my best to live in the moment and focus on having fun with good friends and would be great to have a woman to share my adventures with. I grew up in Bay Area but lived in Hawaii, Massachusetts, New York City, and Latvia I currently live on five acres in Petaluma, CA with some very interesting friends.... We are into organic gardening, have a pond, and maybe will have chickens. We have a large room for concerts, gatherings, parties.... A virtuoso violinist has jammed there alongside a sound healer from Peru! We just had a benefit there for preserving rare plants in the Amazon.
I am interested in alternative medicine/ healing, spiritual growth, self growth, parapsychology, mythology, dream work, and seeking out unique spiritual experiences. I went to my first Native American church last year....an unforgettable experience....sweat lodge one day and then 12 hours in a teepee.... singing /chanting/drumming ...all night long! I felt honored to be invited. While in Peru I saw my first UFO (seriously!....seeing is believing).
I enjoy all the regular pleasures that life offers; beach, cuddling watching a good movie, dining out, reading a good book, etc. etc. I prefer small intimate gatherings to large parties. I prefer “mindful talking” to chit chat. I also enjoy being quiet and doing nothing... "Doing nothing is better than being busy doing nothing" - Lao Tzu. I’d rather be out in nature then in a museum. I like my electronic toys but I am not materialistic. I try to travel light…..my worst addiction is buying books I never read! I rarely drink. I’d like to take dance lessons….I love the Tango but not sure I could do it (have had two bypass surgeries that have slowed me down a bit).
I want someone to talk with, a shoulder to lean on, share adventures with..... I'm looking for someone who is easy going, warm, down to earth, spiritual, and upbeat (like I am). Someone who likes the simple things in life.....who realizes that material things don't bring happiness. Someone who thinks outside the box, and tries to live "outside the box" as the saying goes. Openness and honesty and a sense of humor about life a must. A woman who is a hippy at heart, and who would like to travel. Want to go to Italy next Spring? I'm thinking of southern Italy and renting an apartment for a few months and hanging out with the locals and learning the language. Or Peru within next two years? Someone with compatible interests so we would have plenty to talk about and share. For those looking for someone financially secure....that is not me....though I do have lots of land (total of 70 acres) that is on the market! Adventure has always been more important than security/stuff/money. I go the the gym 5 days a week and do Tai Chi and Chi Gong but 'm not in great physical shape so I'm not a good match for mountain climbing or difficult hikes. I live very simply and use whatever extra money I have to travel. In the past two years I have been to Peru, Mexico, Italy, Hawaii, and Latvia.... I also have Argentina and Thailand on my bucket list.
FYI; I have been separated since 1/2009 My "wife", Maija, lives in Latvia and we have no intention of getting back together though we remain good friends and I consider her two sons my sons
