I'm retired and I'm not really interested in traveling, cruises, that sort of stuff. I traveled a lot when I was working and frankly I'm about traveled out. Which is not to say that I don't enjoy driving and day trips, an occasional evening at the casino, playing cards (bridge, canasta, rummy, hearts) with friends. I also play at golf, know chess though I haven't played in years. I love to read, though these days I prefer reading on my iPad/iPhone to lugging around a book. Favorite genre are Sci Fi & mysteries. Favorite authors include John Ringo, David Weber, James Patterson, Clive Cussler and John Sandford.
Also enjoy listening to Old Radio programs -- Dragnet, Johnny Dollar, Lone Ranger, Six Shooter, Syspense, Jack Benny, Inner Sanctum, etc.
I like TV, mostly CSI & Law & Order type shows. Don't care much for comedy since most of it these days seems to be demeaning or slapstick. Only reality show I watch is Top Gun. Enjoy movies, both at home and in the theatre, am a history buff, mainly military and Mexican Revolution, like to shoot and fish. I enjoy debating -- in a respectful and civilized manner -- on most topics.
Most of my working life I was a newsman for an international wire service or worked in public relations for a major aerospace corporation and worked on quite a few classified programs and the electric car. Today I do a lot of research for genealogy and I try to do some writing. I also teach the occasional class in how to use your computer (either PC or Mac, though I prefer Mac) and so a little repair and maintenance for PCs.
I consider myself patriotic but politically I'm a centrist with pronounced liberal opinions on some things and very conservative views on others. I HATE conspiracy theories, religious zealots, bigots, and birthers.

Meet someone special from Homeland, United States. I'm blessed with good health,great friends,satisfying career,and the attitude and energy to enjoy it all. Like a good wine I'm getting better with age,improving in taste,and can be enjoyed anytime/anywhere but I'm especially good at sunset on the beach. I can be happy dancing to rock n roll or listening to some great jazz. I love great restaurants or could cook a candlelight dinner for the two of us. Getaways could be a week at a club med or a long weekend in the mountains with a roaring fireplace to keep us warm. I'm easy going by nature,quick wit,sharp intellect,great humor,affectionate and intense in the presence of the right woman. The missing ingredient to bring out the best in me is an exciting, passionate, loving, committed relationship, so here I am looking for the right lady .When I meet her I'll say "wow" either to my self or out loud. I'll become more interested and attracted to her the more we talk to each other. I'll feel my heart beat speed up whenever I see her or think about being with her. I'll be proud to introduce her to friends and family. When we're out at a restaurant or party and she enters the room, I'll be glad I'm the guy taking her home. She'll bring out my best qualities and balance out my shortcomings. She'll be proud of herself and her accomplishments in life so far and she'll know that I'm the kind of guy she wants to settle down with but not settle for. We'll both be ready for a long term committment/marriage and will want to fall in love for the last time. And finally we'll both be resigning from this site while we're pouring the champagne!!!!
