People on this site talk about Chemistry, but what is really important is each persons ability to love and care for the other regardless of whether everything is rosy or not. It is something that is built upon like the foundation of a building... There are days when the sky is blue with the sun shining, and the angels are singing Mendelson's Messiah and praises of Hallelujah ring out in the background, and there are day's that aren't. It is our ability, our desire to find that special person, and be willing to commit, to work through both the sunny and rainy days together that makes life and a relationship special.
It is also important to just have fun, to look into the eyes of each other, to be happy, and just want to kick up your heels and dance for joy that this other person wants to be with you.
What I want most is to be with a caring person that is grounded in reality and can commit for the long haul. Not looking to play games, who I seek is someone to be open and honest with the way they feel and be willing to work together to make life better for each other. Looking for a partner, a friend, someone that loves and is open to being loved in a committed relationship.
I enjoy life and find that some of the best times are those quiet moments where can enjoy a sunrise or sunset, a nice vista, or time with family and friends. Of course enjoy a number of other things, and find new ones that want to do all the time, such as hiking, skiing, racquetball, sailing, and so many other things.

Cultures fascinate me and I respect them seriously - there is always so much to learn. My travels have taken me to France multiple times, Spain, Italy, Sardinia, Morocco, Germany multiple times, Japan multiple times, China, Canada and all over the USA. Sailed the Caribbean and been to several islands from Grenada to St Lucia, sailed in the South Pacific including Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora and the windward islands, and sailed for a year exploring the Pacific coast and Sea of Cortez in Mexico.
Being outdoors I like to stay in shape. This takes me skiing, rock climbing, biking, hiking, camping, surfing - anything outdoors is great. At the same time I look great in a tux and have my own :-D Right now my passion is Iaido where I just earned my Shodan rank, and Kendo which I just started. Before that I fenced foil and saber for 30 years and am still a USFA competitive member.
Reading is my primary quiet time entertainment and I am an avid reader. Genres I enjoy include historical novels, biographies and autobiographies, classics and science fiction. I have an extensive book collection including many signed first editions.
Sometimes I play music - I play cello, bass and percussion instruments. Music takes me to another world and I really enjoy hearing live music of all types - classical to jazz to hip hop - I like it all! (Although some more than others and there are times for everything).
I try to donate time to kids organizations when possible and am am on the board of a great non-profit now and spent 8 years on the board of an excellent kids education non-profit that can be a great conversation topic if this is an area that interests you.

Meet single man from United States. I"ve made wholesale changes in my life in the last year. I've been through a death in the family and two serious illnesses -- but I'm still standing. Rather than curse the darkness, I saw this as an opportunity, a wake-up call.
I'd already decided that I wanted to get a masters degree in Spiritual Psychology, but I had no idea what I was getting into, or how good it could get. What has happened is what I saw happening in my friends' and classmates' lives, and what had attracted me to USM in the first place: I saw my friends' lives blossoming at an exponential rate. I've made major changes in my approach to life, and even made the first steps in a career change based on reconnecting with my Vision.
I love my life and would love to share it with someone who has the same sense of adventure that I do. I just came back from a trip to Austin, where I got to be the announcer for The Austin Variety Show; I got to meet the band members of The Wagoneers, an AMAZING roots-rock band from Austin; they sound a lot like the Bodines, if you remember them. Their performance inspired me to buy a guitar and start playing again. (I don't think I'm going to be a rock star but, hey, a guy's gotta have a hobby -- I can always serenade you!) It's always good to reconnect with the people you care about. And, of course, eat great BBQ.
My friends tell me I'm funny, kind, loving, warm, interesting, smart, a little nerdy and a lot of fun. I'm learning to experience myself in those ways, too. I feel like the luckiest guy i know, having been given the chance to completely re-create my life. I live through my heart and intuition; while I'm not perfect at it, I do my best. I've been blessed with the most amazing group of friends, and if you meet them, you'll probably think so, too.

I love Britcoms -- especially Black Adder, AbFab, Monty Python (series and movies) -- I recently saw Moonrise Kingdom and LOVED it! I like pretty much anything that comes from the heart. I got tired of living in my head a long time ago. I prefer quiet, intimate momnets, but I also like a good party, going to a Dodgers game, or laughing my butt off at Tina Fey and Jon Stewart.

Favorite music: Jazz/rock fusion, ANYTHING with John McLaughlin in the lineup, Frank Zappa, Gypsy Swing, Classic Rock (in small doses), Bela Fleck, jump blues...another infinite list...
Favorite things: sleeping late, cooking a tasty meal for just the two of us -- or a roomful of friends -- and the sense of community it brings forth; resonating with Truth -- both personal and Universal; making new connections and renewing old ones; adding value to others' lives; doing good deeds anonymously, just for the doing of them; a good workout; a good book; being inspired; my two cats, Puddin' and Harley; watching the St. Louis Cardinals win; authentic Tex-Mex and Texas ANYTHING; the smell of your perfume on my shirt after I've dropped you off; desire and commitment; being in the moment; doing what you love because you love what you do; good, interesting radio.

I like bike (bicycle) riding, it's good exercise and it gives me a chance to stop and smell the roses which is hard to do if you're driving 50 mph down the road in a car. Would like to meet someone that would bike ride with me.
I love the sound of a Spanish guitar (I also like many other kinds of music too), I like the sound smell of rain, late afternoon sun that creates shadows stretching across landscape, and walking along the beach anytime of day!
I've never had children, always thought I would but it never happened. But I do get a kick out of little children innocently doing what little children do that ticks off their parents/adults. And what turns me into a kid again is Disneyland and Christmas!!
