Recreation has always been an important part of my life. While I can no longer play 5.0 tennis or rock climb 5.10, there are still new challenges with no shortage of fun.
Retirement has given me the opportunity to participate in rewarding community service projects as well political campaigns. It has also provided the time to pursue my lifelong fascination with music, arts and language, which I do on a daily basis. Fascination doesn't necessarily equal comprehension, but I have mastered a number of musical notes and have set a goal to learn at least four more this year.
Some things I like to do: Outdoor oriented road trips, hiking, camping, ping pong, playing the ukulele; going to music concerts, occasional opera, community events, SYTYCD, going for full moon walks, birding, picnics, beach fires, napping in hammock, prefer moonlight, candlelight, firelight to neon lights. Extensive international travel experience. An adventurous swimmer, comfortable and confident in ocean surf, bays, rivers, lakes and pools.
Yes, I watch sports on TV, but not extensively and quite selectively. I've never seen an entire baseball game or the first half of an NBA game. I do watch the Niners and Giants when things get interesting.
