Meet people from La Quinta, United States. I was born on a Pacific island and landed in the SF Bay as a child on a Navy sea plane. I was moved with my family (kicking and screaming) to LA and after high school ran away to the wilds (ha!) of Oregon for college. I returned to the San Francisco Bay area to live and work for over 30 years.
I spent summers on Catalina Island growing up (camp counselor), sailing, swimming, water skiing, snorkeling, and would probably still be there in the water if I hadnРІР‚в„ўt had to grow up and support myself. IРІР‚в„ўve been an elementary school teacher, a very short stint flying for Hughes Airwest (remember the yellow planes and short dresses with boots...groan!), a corporate manager, VP of a startup, and eventually my own boss for the past 27 years. I was one of the first women to get a NAUI certification in scuba at OSU (ever done a dive on the Oregon coast...so not fun) and still love all things water/ocean oriented. My scuba diving has been replaced with golf...which often involves water, but not in a good way.
I have no idea what I’m doing in the desert (actually I do, and yes, a man was involved but he was my Dad, and it’s a long story). I’ve been married twice (had a seriously broken “man picker”), but know what’s important and real for me now and never plan to settle for less again. For starters, what matters is honesty, commitment, intimacy, fun, humor, knowing you’re in it together and having each other’s back.
