My fiancee passed away 9 months ago she always wanted me to set my course & be open to happiness & love again. So I'm finally opening to "Let Go Let God" open new possibilities for me. When we look, nothing arises. When we let go, we open to new possibilities... I have not "officially" become a member yet. I think I'm finally leaning towards that direction so I can communicate with "matches'. This "winking" is getting old there is no further way of reaching out to each other, so that's my next step. I have taken up bicycling about a year or two ago and now am riding, or attempting to ride, 10-12 miles 3-5X per week. It's wonderful. I am a scientist with Medtronic working presently on the new transcatheter valve for treating aortic stenosis. I have two spectacular sons aged 24 and 27. The younger has recently announced his intention to wed the girl of his dreams. I feel good about this but it does in fact represent a certain point in life - that being I've definitely entered the "golden" years of life. My oldest son is starting his own social network enterprise designed to facilitate communication between college alumni and prospective students. I seek advise routinely from my sons. I hope over the years perhaps I've helped them along the way too. They are the high points of my life.
A Self Summary:
I'm pretty good at being a dad. Also I seem to do well at science and engineering. I can read people pretty well too. I was a child of the 60's and spent two tours in Vietnam. I don't know what else to say about that. Despite barely getting through high school, I managed to get engineering degrees from Berkeley and MIT so I guess some folks think I'm successful. Some losses in life like we all have I suppose but want to move on now.
What I'm Doing with My Life:
Learning how to live again and enjoy life. It's been a long time since I've done that. I have just taken up sea kayaking and am really enjoying that. I do enjoy bike riding - have a 26 year old Specialized and love riding it. My sons are my joy right now in life but I would like to find a woman to share my life with.
I'm Good At:
Well, this is difficult but I guess I'm pretty good at being a dad. Also I seem to do well at science and engineering. I can read people pretty well too. I don't believe we are people having spiritual experiences, rather I believe we're spiritual beings having human experiences. Makes life make a lot more sense - don't you think?
Favorite Stuff:
I spend a lot of time at work reading technical papers, so I have to admit I really enjoy mindless bestsellers - pretty much the same with movies. My son burned a couple CD's for me some years ago of my favorite songs (he and his brother are the best kids on earth - sorry ladies.). The songs were mainly from the 60's-70's and included Led Zep Stairway; Bobby Darrin Mack the Knife, Beach Boys, some James Taylor, Ton Loc (yeah funky cold medina - what a great song). I've recently started eating better too.

How did we meet? Perhaps I spotted you in a lush public garden in Vienna, entranced in a book, sitting before a streaming water fountain adorned with tall marble sculptures of Psyche and Eros in embrace. I would have said something that made you laugh and caught your attention and we struck up a conversation that lasted hours. We met the next morning at the train station, our backpacks slung over our shoulders, traveling first on a large passenger liner, then on a decades-old rickety train wheezing its way up into the mountainous Alps to a boat dock. The little ferry took us to a tiny Austrian town carved into a slope of mountain rock.
