I live in a fun house in Belmont Shore one block from the Ocean. It has a 3rd story deck with a view of the LB harbor.

I am passionate about all things environmental. In fact , my life is an evolving sustainability project. I try to walk the walk, or in this case, drive the drive: an all-electric car. It seems to fit in with my electrifying personality. I’m also into healthy eating, for my sake, as well as the planet’s.
Although inherently shy, I have transformed myself into an extrovert, at least much of the time. I like to make people laugh and frequently succeed. I like it when people make me laugh. I have my serious, academic side, but am also fun-loving and a somewhat of a practical joker.
While I have marveled at every stage of my kids’ development, I am especially enjoying having an “adult” relationship with them. They all live nearby and it is wonderful to be able to spend time with them without it being a big deal. I find that relatively frequent and short, and sometimes spontaneous, get togethers beats the cross-country, spend an intensive week together relationship that I had with my parents.
Politically, I am progressive and a pro-peace, pro-environment activist. Much of my discretionaly time is spent trying to save the world. I could always use more help. Do you care to join me in this simple quest?

I took up gardening a few years ago. Transformed part of my then front yard into a native plant garden. A couple of years ago, I started growing some veggies and have continued to do so. Nothing like walking out the back door and picking fresh veggies or herbs..

If you are still reading, thank you. Here is a little more about me. I live two blocks from the ocean and two blocks from the bay in Long Beach - Belmont Shore to be precise. It is a great location for running and biking, as we have a great "bike path" along the beach and i enjoy swimming in the calm, but very cool, bay. So nice to be able to have these things right there and not have to bother with driving someplace, finding parking, etc.
I have been told that many LA people summarily reject anyone living south of the 105, but I am hoping that if you have gotten this far in my profile you will overlook my geographical deficiency and at least give me a chance.
