I moved to SF about a year ago from the DC area where I grew up. I was lucky enough to have a job that allowed me to transfer out here when I got the itch to check out the west coast, which made the move a lot easier. What struck me most about this place, other than the parade of naked bicyclists, was the friendliness, and it has been easier than I could ever have imagined to feel at home and make great friends. I have really been enjoying traveling and exploring, and a few of my favorite trips so far are the Wanderlust yoga festival in Tahoe last summer, canoeing on the Russian River, and a weekend trip I took with a few girlfriends down to Paso Robles. Now that I'm a Californian, I'm exploring my outdoorsy side, and I just finished my first half marathon in June with Team in Training. I loved it and can't wait for the next one - I'm doing the Vegas half in December.
I work in sales, but I am an artist at heart. I try to make time to play piano and guitar, and work on various art projects and crafts. As much as I lament my day job and devise plans to quit to become a starving artist (I auditioned for American Idol!), I secretly enjoy the business world and the thrill of closing deals, and am grateful for the opportunities I have had in my career so far.
Some of my favorite things to do around the city are to walk around and take pictures (with my hipstamatic app of course), seek out new restaurants, eat and drink at outdoor cafes, relax in the park on nice days, and see movies at the Kabuki on cloudy days. I'll always choose going to see live music over a normal bar, and I like watching baseball and hockey (go Caps!)

Meet someone special from United States. Though I am originally from the Pacific Northwest, I have come to call San Francisco home. I moved to San Francisco proper two years ago, and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with this city.
Within my first year here, I discovered that neighborhood bars aren't the best place to meet people (shocker, I know). I grew tired of running into the same guys and felt an urge to shake things up. A few girlfriends and I decided to ditch the online dating stigma, so we joined Match to see what (who) else is out there. So here we are!
On weekends, you'll find me at the beach with my dog, grabbing brunch at a nearby cafe, checking out a new boutique, enjoying the nice weather outside (if it's warm and sunny on a weekend, I refuse to stay inside), running along Crissy Field, or out and about with friends. I'm always up for an active weekend adventure, whether it's boating, hiking a scenic route, heading up to the mountains in the winter, taking a road trip along the California coast, kayaking, running, etc. I grew up sailing and if I had a boat here, I'd be on it!

- I have a birthday calendar hanging on my wall, so I don't forget to send cards to friends and family. Simply said, cards are a million times better than Facebook!
- Cooking is fun and relaxing, especially when cooking with someone else or for others. I cook up a new recipe every week (epicurious is one of my go-to apps). I'm a total sucker for guys who cook..
- The gym is my post-work escape. Running is my go-to, but I also enjoy swimming, yoga, pilates and barre workouts (TDM and TBM).
- I'm a news buff. It comes with the territory (PR).
- I start every day with breakfast (best meal of the day) and tea
- I am part of a number of philanthropy groups in the city. I enjoy planning and attending events, volunteering, and giving back to the local community.
- When I travel, I prefer to visit places with a rich culture and history. Australia and Greece are the next international destinations on my list. If there is natural beauty, warm weather and a sandy beach there, don't even ask - it's a done deal. The potential for some kind of frilly umbrella drink is an added bonus
- Grew up boating on Lake Washington, and to this day, I feel most at home when I'm near the water or beach, or out on the water
- Intrigued by people who are passionate, ambitious and aware of/interested in what is going on in the world

I was brought up in quite the dichotomy of life styles and couldn't be more thankful to my family for that. My parents are both really into music, cooking and loving life. On any given day/night I can be found sitting by the fire with a book and a glass of wine, cooking with my roommate to crazy fun music, dancing, going to a hip hop show/indie band/jazz club/concerts in general... (I think you get the gist that I LOVE live music), hiking the headlands, meditating on life at the beach, playing with the dogs at any given park/beach, playing golf anywhere, going for drives to beautiful places along the coast, hanging with friends over beers/coffee/food/etc., playing in the waves and trying to get comfy surfing again, catching a game at any given bar or stadium, visiting museums (I can be a history/art nerd), watching movies, relaxing in my cabin, sailing, exploring the city and trying to enjoy life in any/every way possible. I love to laugh, I care about everyone I meet in one way or another and I rarely get angry (you really have to work to make me mad). My little brother is my best friend and family means more to me than anything in the world - once I'm truly close with someone, however, they automatically become part of my "family". I place a lot of stock in good conversations, intelligent people, honesty, sincerity and a good sense of humor. I'm very motivated but finally learning the meaning of "work/life balance" - I woke up one day a few months ago and realized that I had spent 2 years of my life working hard and nothing, personally, to show for it. I am so overwhelmingly happy to finally be back up north and am excited to meet new/exciting/fun/interesting people.
