I find that when most people describe themselves with a few adjectives, they are either very generic or very inaccurate, so I'm kind of afraid to even attempt to, but I'd LIKE to think that I'm kind, smart, sincere and affectionate. I love to laugh and make other people laugh (even if it's at my expense). I'm also a little neurotic, but I think that has actually served me well in life - I've always been a hard worker and I put a lot of thought into what I do and how I live (it also makes for some good blogging). I feel like I'm at the point where this nice little life I'm building for myself is finally starting to take shape, and I just want a partner in it - hopefully with his own lovely little half-baked life that I can weave in with mine.
A little bit more about my background - I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA. I stayed in the Bay Area for college, then lived in New York City for a year and then ended up in San Diego for med school. I'm in my 4rd year now and despite the ridiculous hours, I'm loving it even more than I thought I would. Even though I've chosen a very scientific career, my true love has always been writing. I think the main thing that drew me into medicine was just the idea of sitting down and hearing people's stories (and hopefully being able to help them). I write whenever I get the chance, sometimes just for myself and sometimes for my blog. One of my goals for 2012 is to write something publishable. Another one is the give more hugs, haha.
I'm looking for someone who is kind, smart and funny. I tend to have a hard time getting along with people who don't have a sense of humor, so I guess that's the only real deal breaker. I want someone who doesn't speak in cliches, who really makes me think, who loves food as much as I do, who is passionate about what he does, and most importantly, who understands that relationships require effort and commitment. I want to be the woman who after decades of marriage still leaves 'I love you's scrawled on foggy bathroom mirrors. And I want a man who values that and sees that sometimes love is in the details.
