I'm also a recovered alcoholic with more than 23 years of continuous sobriety. I am not bothered by other people's drinking. That's a non-issue with me.
I am the father of two sons, 20 and 17. The oldest lives in San Francisco where he attends college. The youngest is a junior at a local high school. To the extent possible and reasonable, I've done all that I can to facilitate my sons' lives so that they can be happy, productive adults. They don't owe me anything. Rather, they owe their children the same.
